I'll never understand why people think Florida would want to trade Willis for anything. He's a cheap young ace. That's what you gamble on getting when you trade for prospects. So why would the Marlins gamble on getting something in a prospect by trading away what they are hoping to get? Doesn't make any sense.
I guess I'm the only person here who thinks that the Cardinals are/were a garbage team? A lot of people are giving them way too much credit. This is the worst WS champion in history.
]You could be one of those ignoramuses who take cues from MFY fans and chant shit like "Tom-my Glav-ine! (clap-clap! clap-clap-clap)!" Yo. Get it right. The MFY fans did NOT suddenly create the four-syllable, five-clap chant. That's been around a long time before they started doing that roll call thing. There's nothing wrong with other fans using it on a one-off basis.

I feel that Looper gets unfair treatment from Met fans. Though it doesn't help that his name rhymes with poop. And his explanation of being booed was priceless.
Johnny Dickshot wrote: ="metirish"]Bad error by him right there..... Yeah but I'd wish Tim would shut up and admire that Z had the presence of mind to strap 'em on and go for a triple play there. Ever since I was at a game in Philly where Piazza hit into a triple play and I barely realized it, I remind myself to be aware whenever there's at least 2 on and 0 out. As soon as Pujols hit reached Zumaya I was thinking "TRIPLE PLAY!" with the only tough out being Wilson at 2nd. Pujols barely runs and you know he's not paying attention. Huh. I didn't think of it that way. I thought Zumaya was just being a moron. Maybe they'll ask him in the post game.
If I had a time machine the first thing I'd go back and do is go see Star Wars in theaters in '77. Then I'd go see games 6 and 7 at Shea. Then 1969. Mays would be in the top 10 probably.
I'm too tired to pose any counterarguments that would probably be wrong anyway. If I'm going to be dead wrong, I like to be awake at the time. (New thread! New thread!)
That Howard commerical looks alarmingly like a Nazi rally. (Yes I realize Howard is Jewish.) It also sounds alarmingly like the beginning of the Kirk/McCoy trial from Star Trek VI.
Oh my god that was hilarious. Zumaya picks up a grounder and throws to third. The radar gun then flashed the speed of his throw to third at 100 mph. I think that puts to rest any argument that the radar guns are not shady.
Personal UMDB memory: first time I saw it was a random google looking for Met stuff. The first thing that caught my eye was the pictorial starting lineup that the box score were accompanied by. A couple years later I was looking for that site again to show my buddy "I saw this really cool site that had the starting lineup in pictures but I can't remember where the heck it is."
