  1. Beltran rips a double down the left field line in the 9th. He has 4 hits in 5 at bats. Delgado has 2 homers and a triple (guess that triple stands), but he grounds out here. Wagner will pitch the 9th in a non save situation. We all have to agree he needs the work, save situation or not.

  3. Burrell strikes out to a LOUD chorus of boos. Pats gone on record saying hes not happy with the new Phillies outfield rotation stratagy since the Abreu trade. Thinks he should be playing everyday. I guess he dont get it-- the Phils were tryin to move him harder than Abreu--no one wanted him.
  4. MFS62 wrote: Why not let him bat for hinmself and then face Howard, who is first up in the bottom of the inning? (shameless second guess) Maybe not '62. Howard smacks Heilmans 1st pitch for a single to center.
  5. I guess all the talk of Castros death have been greatly exaggerated. He pitches a 1-2-3 iniing for the Phils.
  6. Feliciano strikes out Utley! He had him chase the 2nd strike out of the zone, as Utley tried to check his swing, and froze him with a low curve ball for strike 3. He was lookin fastball all the way. Great job by the pen.
  7. Really---I mean really nice 3 pitch strike out by Bradford of the pinch hitter Rowand. He gets Rollins to pop out to Wright- Victorino smacks a grounder off of Chads leg for an infield single. Bradford saved a run with the deflection to Delgado--- Mets go to the bullpen for Feliciano. I dont think Chad was hurt at all by the grounder--I think that Feliciano was coming in to face Utley in any case. Bases loaded for the Phils- 2 out.
  8. ScarletKnight41 wrote: Keith was livid that Delgado was credited with a triple on that play - he thought it was a single and that Delucci committed an error on the play. ...thats how I saw it. Not complaining tho. Maine gives up two singles to lead off the Phils 7th, and he'll make way for Chad Bradford.
  9. Wow---thats almost nicer to see than the homers-- Delgado rips a wicked line drive by 1st base, in the hole - its hit so hard Dellucci slides to cut it off from the wall, and he kicks it into the corner. Beltran scores easily- and as of now Delgado is credited with a triple.
  10. MFS62 wrote: I was really getting nervous in that last inning. I had to remind myself to exhale. Whenever Utley and Howard come to bat in the same inning against the Mets I hold my breath.
  11. Zvon wrote: Vanentin is out and Woody is in for him at second. Some speculation he may have injured himself on the bases that last half, running into Utley on the Milledge double play. They didnt collide or anything, but he may have tried to stop short and quick to avoid the tag. No replay-----but live it looked like he just ran straight into Utleys tag.
  12. As long as we are not in a position where any one series cant hurt the fact that we have a runaway lead in the division, Im not concerned. And this Philly series confirms that to me. We got our ass whupped and we still have a commanding lead. My only concern at this point, as far as it stands as of this date, is to assure come the end of Sept we are as close to firing on all cylinders as we possibly can be. I think Pedro getting rest now helps towards that goal. Id like to see Bannister come up and take his next two starts. Hopefully Delgado and Beltran may be able to carry the team for a bit as we wait for Wright to snap out of his funk. And Reyes should just continue doing what he has been doing, as well as the Met reserves/bench and pen. I dont know that Milledge can be counted on- not doing what he has been doing while we have a guy like Chavez on the bench. Maybe their roles should be reversed.( Milledge should play for Floyd till he returns, and hopefully we have a fresh and productive Cliffy for the rest of the run.) But the great thing is we can afford to give Lastings an extended look right now. We can afford a lot of things Im not used to, like this series against the Phils. I am a lil currently concerned about Valentin and his hammy, which happened just today. His value to the team cant be measured in conventional terms.
  13. ScarletKnight41 wrote: Vamos Carlos AND the other one! Wow. I agree about Zvon's Ka-Booms - they're magnificent. Thanks SK. I think the whole concept of the kaboom post makes the IGTs more interactive fun for the fans. Wright makes a GREAT diving snag of Victoinos chopper down the third base line, but cant throw him out. And that DAMN pesky Utley hits a really nice pitch by Maine, high and outside, for a bloop single to center. He had no business touching that pitch with his bat, and just flicked it out there. And Howard JUST misses one to center. Beltran hauls it in on the track.
  14. Maine is quietly pitching a fine game. Hope this shuts up the reporters who say he's not a good arm to count on from here on out. He's no fluke-the kid can pitch.
  15. Vanentin is out and Woody is in for him at second. Some speculation he may have injured himself on the bases that last half, running into Utley on the Milledge double play. They didnt collide or anything, but he may have tried to stop short and quick to avoid the tag. No replay-----but live it looked like he just ran straight into Utleys tag.
  16. Even tho Wright hasnt been totally dry, he looks lost up there at the plate. You know he's gonna snap out of it............eventually.
  17. Elster88 wrote: I hope not. Let the monster out on September 30th. Everyone needs to be a monster then.... the Mets need to be a house of horrors to all other post season teams. And they can be that----we've seen it.
  18. Methead wrote: Could the Carlos-monster be out of the cage? We need him to have his average season closing surge. So, I hope so.
  19. Who am I kidding? I cant stop..lol.
  20. Willets Point wrote: ="seawolf17"]Holy crap! Carlos Delgado got a hit! BTW -- I gotta say I really love Zvon's kabooms. Looks like he's ripped a huge fart. LMAO--- yea-thats the look I was goin for.
  21. Utley doubles to right- Milledge with a decent play to keep it from getting to the wall- tho he ran right at the ball and was lucky to grab it and cut it off. It was double no matter how he played it. And Howard with a towering homer to left-gone off the bat. It wasnt a bad pitch by Maine. A nice fastball on the outside part of the plate--- cant get away with that to Howard. That guy can hit anything out. 4-2 Mets
  22. Thanks guys, but really, the more kabooms the better. I make these cuz I enjoy messing with graphics in my spare time, but if they are gonna stop others from posting kabooms, one of the reasons I so enjoy IGTs, Ill refrain. Reyes works an at bat in the 4th, and draws a walk. He didnt chase that 3-2 fast ball- Very nice.
  23. Two really nice fielding plays back up Maine in the 2nd. Chavez chases Howards long drive into the left field corner, leaps, and pulls it down. Reyes with a diving grab in the hole of Lieberthals line drive, easily robs a single.
