    I always thought the team name was Metropolitans and they just shortened it to Mets for convenience. Gary says that the team was never called the Metropolitans and that that was just the name of the company that founded the team. I knew that too (The New York Metropolitan Baseball Club), but I did think that Metropolitans was the teams full name. Very interesting. Ty Gary.

    I myself would like to see how a uni jersey would look with the "Metropolitans" all spelled out. I might have to make me one. If you're not getting the SNY feed they were talking jerseys. Keith does not like that road Cub jersey they have on.
