  1. Cowgill .3 Murphy 1 Wright 1 Byrd 1 Turner 1 Tejeda .2 Harvey 4.7 Parnell .8
  2. I have nothing against platooning; Baxter for Duda made absolute sense in this game for instance. But having already burned Baxter and then using Valdespin for a PH, it didn't make sense to pull Byrd and then use your last remaining OF in Nieuwenhuis (remember that emergency OF Turner was already in a DH). If Terry believes that Nieuwenhuis's defense is that much better than Cowgill and Valdy (questionable) then use him to PH, and if Terry thinks Valdespin was that much more likely to get in the 5th run than Nieuwenhuis then he can survive one inning with him in CF. And remember that this all started because he wanted to go lefty/righty for Cowgill (it's not like we were PH-ing for the pitcher here) so he wound up using three different CFs to cover the final four outs of the game. IOW, he was over-doing it there at the end IMO No, you're right. I agree. I think most folks here would too. op:(on preview?)saw Edges post when hitting enter. Good thing I said most, lol.
  3. The only entree in the Historic Met journal for 4/13/13: "Buck did not hit one today."
  4. What I said last Monday bears repeating here: "Folks, we got ourselves one seriously good pitcher on our hands here". Terry PH-ing with Valdy and then putting Nieuwenhuis in for CF defense seemed like a waste of a player who maybe, just maybe, would be needed later. Either PH with Nieuwy or leave Speen in the play CF. Agreed, but that's just Terry bein Terry. What he's doing with the outfield reminds me of the way Gil platooned the right side of the field (RF,2nd Base, 1st base)in '69. A little bit, anyways.
  5. I went a little overboard on this one.
  6. Those drives by the Twins don't even reach the wall. It seems every other one of our hits smack off that wall. Keep it under control Parnell.
  7. I pick Tim Conway for Parnells Ks.
  8. I like this situation. Parnell's first save chance with as big a cushion as possible.
  9. Turner uses that at bat to single.
  10. I had the vinyl and CD, but I never really examined the cover. Who is the babe? Phillis Diller? The babe is actress Glynis John, a play on words on Glyn Johns, Led Zep's recording engineer. The album cover was based on this photo: Wow. Awsum info and pic, thnx. And awsum Jeffbot DJ
  11. I agree w/Mex. Let him try and finish the inning.
  12. Up to 100 pitches. Aside from the hit and the 2 walks this has been a perfect game for Harv.

I'm convinced. /Adjusts foil hat //Cues WFAN number on cell phone for postgame call And Gary did mention that he was hitless over his last 9 innings counting the last three innings of his outting vs. the Phils. When he said that I cringed a lil.

  16. Harveys pitch count at 76 after 6.
  17. ^^"And he's just gettin cookin."-Gary
  18. Turner wastes an at bat. Wrights RBI earlier was his 90th in inter-league play, a new franchise record. He passed Piazza, who had 89.

  21. Oh Ike... I wanna see more of that goin to left. He was out by a mile. Worth the chance? I dunno, just glad he wasn't hurt. Turner uses his 2nd at bat to get another hit.

  23. Wow. I just made this a minute ago.
