  2. A few more of those and we are even Bax.
  3. Beers on me Hawkins!
  4. Mayberry launches another.
  5. OW. That tuffer. Brown goes downtown. *frown
  6. Damn. Right thru Tejedas legs but, Foxheads are right, he was blocked by Rollins. Tuff break.

  8. When does it officially become a rally? After a run is scored? After three reach?
  9. "Dave hoping to be a part of that (the ASG)"- Foxhead. How could that be in doubt? Hey, lets make sure, no matter how he does, that he is the starting third baseman for the NL.
  10. Marcum had a good quick inning there. TIME TO GET HITTIN AND SCORIN AND THE OTHER STUFF.
  11. Philly double plays hurt me on a cellular level.
  12. Why didn't Buck slide down laterally to block that? If he did it would have bounced right into him. Stupid effort. Phils take the lead on a wild pitch. Marcum looked good and in control to start. Could he be tired already?
  13. Lets give it right back.
  14. Whos da man? Valde drives in the first run of the game following a Davis double.
  15. I don't think so. But yea, we did get him. Nice throw Bucky.
  16. I'll run this one out every chance I get.
  17. Orange brim caps look much better with the blue tops imo. I mean, if you have to have them at all.
  18. Gah. A DP and a questionable called strike three to Wright ends a possible threat in the first. No hits but two on from a HBP and walk.

The benefit to the home team is more image than financial and during the later 80s they simply didn't think they needed the boost. By the 90s, not coincidentally as the Wilpons gained full control and as the new wave of stadium building boomed, MLB was increasingly interested in showing off the newer parks and the 'Pons were increasingly embarrassed by the age/condition of Shea. I'll concede that Shea was one big bowel from the mid 90s on. Personally I didn't think it was ever as bad as some said it was-but in comparison to the new parks popping up? Shea was old style. Not old enough to be appreciated though. In the late 80s they should have went for it as a reward to their actual and existing fans, not to get any more fans (of course I understand their selfish logic though). I certainly would have found a way to go. I had to wait until the Phils had the ASG in '96 to go to one. I skipped the one in '76 cause I wanted my ASG experience to be in the Mets ballpark and I figured some year they would have to get it, if even by default. I was always under the impression that MLB approached a team and asked if they wanted to host. Don't mind me, I'm just blowing off steam. So now the Mets will have the ASG at Citi not to repay their fans, but to seek new ones. Suck mah balls Wilpon.
  20. Turner 1 Familia 1.7 Edgin .5
  21. Kyle Kendrick. That was the third complete game and second shutout of his entire career. That deserves one big [bigpurple:1qzlwbge]GAH![/bigpurple:1qzlwbge]
  22. What happened to being patient at the plate? We saw 6 pitches that whole inning. And only two hits off Kendrick? Come ooooooon.
  23. What are those two things on the mound near Gee? Oh, that's his wheels.
  24. Shitfuckdamn. Howard cashes in.
  25. First and third with no out for the Phils in the 6th. This does not bode well. And it doesn't. Young drives in Rollins with a solid single past the drawn in infield.
