  1. When did they start this rookie of the month shit?
  2. Niiiice. Gee drives in Buck for a lead!
  3. Uggla even sucks at great plays.
  4. That might be the weirdest pop out to second I've ever seen. Murphy ran out, stopped, looked at his watch, and then stuck his glove out and caught it.
  5. Duda 3 fer 3 . And if you heard what Gary said, I think Duda taking ground balls at the position a few days ago was his way of telling Collins that was what he wanted to do. Play first. Uggla. The correct answer was: Uggla.
  6. Ha! Guess who sucks?

  9. Now thats what I like to see. Freddy Frakin Freeman leads off with a double, then Gee bears down, executes pitches, and FF is stranded at 2nd.
  10. Gary is right about Gee looking like a different person from the seasons start. A different pitcher....? gettin there.
  11. Wright gets around nice on a pitch and lines a single to left. Duda talks with his bat: " I LIKE FIRST BASE!" singles. Byrd strands em. Yep, the Mets are playing baseball.
  12. Rain delay theater. This is how Lunchpail went to school today. He was to present a report on David Wright. Wow They do grow so fast, huh? PLAYBALL!
  13. Costas has many positive attributes but I've never considered a sense of humor among them. So you might be right.
  14. What happened to that 10:05 start?

  16. Swan Swan H wrote: Chris Carlin lol. And in a few years he'll be Alfred Hitchcock. And we have come full circle. High anxiety waiting for this game to start
  17. Edgy MD wrote: Well, it's most certainly happening to the Braves as well. Who's Uncle Fester? I would never have considered their perspective. You might be making me a better person. Nope, still don't.
  18. Swan Swan H wrote: 10:05, sez Uncle Fester. That means they could conceivably play three games within 24 hours. damn, lol. Im sure its not the case but doesn't it feel like this stuff only happens to the Mets?

But if that's all the time Collins has for that experiment then so be it. I imagine that Terry is also being judged and he needs to win games. It's not his 2B play that's being judged as wanting here, it's his hitting. I understand that. I said a while back that we should take an extended look at him. I was thinking in the outfield, but whatever. See what he can do with some regular playing time at one position. And his lack of hitting is the hard part to sit thru. For the most part he has played an adequate second base. I'm not sure that a weeks worth of games is enough of a look. Not complaining. There are a number of ways this team can go now. If they want to give players a shot at showing what they can do, give them fair shots. I'm okay with todays line-up because I think we have to field our best team vs the Braves, and right now, this is it. Maybe they can pick up the Jordany experiment down the line.
  20. Getting some good use out of this one.

Moving Duda to first earlier than I would have thought. I didn't think they'd do that until they totally gave up on Ike. Now this is interesting. I suspect is Valdespin they're giving up on. I mean, were he hitting 300 with a coupla dingers in Vegas I don't think we'd be seeing this tonight. I totally agree with that.
  22. metirish wrote: I like Terry's quote there at the end. Ha! Worth repeating: Asked if he would have been more concerned with no celebration, Collins said: "If they just packed up their crap and went inside, yeah I'd be a little concerned."
  23. Swan Swan H wrote: Terry 'Shecky' Collins, today: On whether Zack Wheeler should follow Matt Harvey's lead: "You mean find him a supermodel?" On Costas' comment: "All right - civilization's over. Let's rebuild." Its about time the boys put him in a good mood.
