  1. Niiiiice. Small ball to tie it. This is what we need to do. Mix it up.
  2. Good nuff Loney. 6-5 Aquathings
  3. Edgy MD wrote: Yeah it was the best of both worlds from Nimmo. And now the tying runs are on. I'd've sent Walker, I think. The left fielder had to run a long way. I thought that too. But no outs. Good teams plan ahead like that. We just get more nervous.
  4. Edgy MD wrote: Nimmo had a chance to crush Hechy's leg there and didn't. But Nimmo had just enough cutthroat in him to push Hechy's foot away from the bag. That was a beautiful headsup by the new rules slide. I think. Are we gonna comeback in this one? I gots to know!
  5. Those caps are horribly garish. I'm going to design an ALL-STAR cap for Mets players. All the other teams can kiss my ass. Why was this moved to 4pm? It looks to be on SNY.
  6. Lefty Specialist wrote: Well, he'll probably hit one farther anyway, so they should probably wait. haha, this? ^ For its optimism. Or paint every seat he ends up hitting up there yellow. Hey Batmags! Happy 4th
  7. WILMAHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Tie goes to the record.
  8. The NimmoBomb shocked the shit out of me. I thought he was a little spray hitter. If he can hit them that far...oh baby. If they can keep hitting 3-5 HRs a game I'll get off their case RE:lack of small ball. Because a homer barrage is really fun to watch.
  9. Weather?
  10. That one at bat last night where he ended up lashing a single up the middle. That showed me great promise & intelligence. worked the count. Adjusted to hit it the other way and charged into the pitch. He'll at least be as good as Dave Magadan with similar #s, I figure.
  11. I suffered symptoms of the Benitez Syndrome last night, thought a relapse was coming on. It passed. I was amazed that his hard times in the WS didn't cause fans to go all Benitez on him back then. Maybe some did. I didn't see it. I'm glad we didn't because with a closer even something slight like that can mess up his head, dent his confidence. When his save streak comes to an end I will not be down about it, even if it's an important/or needed game. I'd like to shake his hand and say good fkn job kid. That was an amazing run.
  12. Rain coming down pretty hard there atm. They say no end in sight.
  13. Frayed Knot wrote: Was, at the end of the 1965 & '66 seasons, the top-rated Met ever in the CPF Ranking Project (or would have been through the magic of retrospective reconstruction). Currently hanging in at #83 all time, he sits behind only Ron Hunt & Jack Fisher (#'s 74 & 75) among players whose NYM careers pre-date the 1969 era. His August 1963 cycle came in order (first single, then double, etc.) which should get you extra credit although I'm not sure what exactly that credit would be. A perfect cycle.
  14. People keep saying that she dropped charges and tried to reconcile because of the money, but if she divorced him and moved on, money-wise(support) she'd be pretty set for life. No? I don't get the money angle. I would like to think that the children are her major concern and this is why she is giving Reyes another chance.
  15. CAPTION THIS CARD! Familia has a few outstanding records attached to him atm iirc. How do I wrap it all up for one card? 16. Any word from Batmags? I wanna run my new cards by him.
  17. Boooo. Sad. I'm glad Nimmo didn't get mouthy with the ump.
  18. Nimmotime!~ He could be an instant hero. 5-2 Mets
  19. bmfc1 wrote: Bastardo needs to go. Between de Aza and Bastardo, Sandy did not use his limited FA budget wisely last off-season. Ha. I was here all day? I didn't realize it. Stopped in here for the lineup earlier. Agreed those two have to go. How could a pitcher forget that you have to throw over?? From now on he's Butt for Brains Bastardo. Great, Garcia with a 3 run bomb. ThThThThTat's All Folks!
  20. Ashie62 wrote: Will play some SS,2B and outfield but the hope is that he is our new Third baseman per Star Ledger. I hope Jose shaves the facial hair, he kinda looks like a thug. Have you seen the Jose vid on twitter? Singing about New York and looking rather thuggish. Maybe he is a thug. He sure looked happy. Jose comes home.
  21. I'm thankful for two things: -The Mets won. -I don't have to listen to Verducci any longer. Not necessarily in that order. "That's why the Mets like Matt Reynolds so much!" Ha, really? I watch them every day and I haven't noticed that. On a 3-1 count Julio throws one high and tight that Cespedes swings at, making it 3-2. Looked like it could have been a ball. "I'd do that again, only throw it a little higher." And did he say earlier that the Mets got Reyes to lead off from now on? What an idiot.
  22. Centerfield wrote: Alejandro, Skipper wants to see you in his office. Seriously.
  23. Frayed Knot wrote: Woo-Hoo!! Wow. I don't think I've ever seen you "woo=hoo" before. What a boringly good game.
