  1. Probably the first six are marginally safe as long as they don't suck. With the 7th slot being whoever is doing best in Spring, with a weighted average for a lefty that can get Ryan Howard out.(wait, that might be all of them. But I'm sure that they'll try to add a second lefty)
  2. Some reason can't get the img tag to work/display this pic: http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/-IU3GzWx0ReeYhqKM5THzw?feat=directlink
  3. My eyes! my eyes! the second-half of the '09-'10 season will be better, i don't need to see recaps from the first.
  4. Looking forward to it. Just wish my optimum DVR was capable of recording "Mets Yearbook" new episodes instead of treating each year as a seperate show needing separate effort to record. (Oh, i can record online..I should do that now or I'll end up forgetting to record it)
  5. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Swan Swan H wrote: Hey, Elmer, you wore 64 last year. No asterisk for you. Asterisks are for NRIs, which poor Elmer is again. On that note, Andy Green wore 10 last spring as well.
  6. No guarentee the spring number will be the 40-man roster number. 79 for Tejada? he's moved up 7.5 or so. progress.
  7. I think they're going to remove the wall entirely, make the apple a little more visible. I mean, otherwise why remove the padding, just draw the line and be done with it. That's why they have instant replay.
  8. Welcome! Found that in an old copy of the 1975 yearbook i stumbled across. So I guess technically it's Wifey Watch 1975, but whatever. I'm intrigued by the wives softball game. Couldn't find a lot of info on it but seems like the Mets and Phillies wives traveled with the teams a bit and played a couple of random innings of softball occasionally. On a semi-related note, I heard Victorino and Rollins got married (not to each other) this off season.
  9. could always switch to ESPN radio. It's just as much Mets hate with a little less knowledge.
  10. I can't stay away, it's like a train wreck. I don't listen to WFAN at work anymore, at least until it's really baseball season then maybe..but I prefer talk so I tune in for my commute. Sometimes I think I'd be better driving in silence. (Of course, then I'd hear all the bad noises my car is making)
  11. I put in my yearly $5 wager for the Mets to win the World Series. 26 to 1 odds when I made it. That should cover a Reyes World Series MVP Jersey or something right?
  12. If it was a one-time show, maybe. Given that even if I could grab another $15k or so by gambling it all, that's offset by the idea that I could easily win that 15k the next day anyway. Since the amount I could win be answering safely is unlimited, and the slim possibility that I could have a mind-cramp, or just happen to hit something I've never heard of, or be a trick question that I don't think through (The Red Stockings one).. I'd play it safe. I got 7/10. I didn't know the Cubs Spring Training location (guessed Mariners, probably a stupid guess given expansion). miffed the Red Stockings one and for some reason couldn't come up with Pirates for the 'stole'n player question.
  13. I imagine the Mets have better things to do than police for content all the things they slap their name on though. I mean the wall calendar features I think 5 Mets that are no longer Mets (Church was gone in like June right?) Better question would be to mention how Beltran ranks in career postseason home runs against the Cardinals.
  14. yeah, too many weekdays, but I figure that's how these things work. One nugget, the rest filler that they want to sell. I'm tempted to do the Opener one just for the surety of getting it, particularly for $25 as I'm sure the secondary market will still be at least $50.
  15. The return of Fireworks Night! (this has me excited. Yah fireworks! Of course, I'm waiting for the first mainstream media post saying "I guess there will be some fireworks at Citi this year") http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/nym/ticketing/six_packs.jsp Also, a whole bunch of 6packs, typical of how they used to do it. (Get Opening Day, Hall of Fame day, or one of the Mets Yankees) Only Promenade reserved but generally the idea is to get in the building for those games right?
  16. Is Evans really 3B-1B (OF)? One of the few benefits of Tatis is his 'versatility' but 2B/SS is irrelevant as we've got Cora, so if Evans can cover the others, I'd much rather see him..
  17. I don't have access to all my stadium pics at work, but it looks like the biggest problem with Citi Field's scoreboard is that the ads are flush against the scoreboard so there is no separation from the two. Even though Yankee Stadium has a billion ads and a small, scrolling out of town scoreboard, the main board is front and center and separate (and probably not much, if any, bigger than Citi's) http://picasaweb.google.com/CeetarsNose/YankeeStadiumIII#5348697748118975650 Coors's is fairly small (supposedly they're getting an upgrade soon actually) http://picasaweb.google.com/ceetar/Denver#5402297611252271138 but the Ads are off to the sides and not completely surrounding it.
  18. I didn't hate the Citi Field scoreboard, thought it was okay once I got used to where to look. Still wish there were exclamation points after the "Lets Go Mets".. Most scoreboards are mostly advertising aren't they? Shea was. Yankee Stadium might as well rename itself Sales Pitch Field. Some standards in ad design couldn't hurt(Like always advertising the Blue Bud Light instead of the Red Budweiser), although the way the economy was/is I'm not sure beggers can be choosers, even in baseball stadiums.
  19. Sheets signed with Oakland didn't he? Noone got that one right anyway.
  20. In terms of snow, i know Coors Field has some sort of field heater underneath that can slowly melt all the snow that's stuck on it. I assume the Twins will be the same.
