I'm expecting a really solid year out of him. Production wise, closer to 25 home runs and 110 RBI (assuming he's batting 6th with a TON of opportunity) In fact, due to the circumstances of being able to drive in Bay, Wright and Beltran, all of who will be on base a lot, I wouldn't be surprised to hear a radio host use the words MVP in describing his season so far. Probably very similar to last years numbers. (btw, you left off his Pittsburgh numbers for last year) I suspect around 3.5 ERA 60-70 games, and one or two big blowup moments where I suspect he'll take on the persona of hated Mets reliever and people will make up funny things D.J. stands for.

I don't expect that much out of him, but he seems to be getting paid a fair amount for a bullpen possible. Maybe he'll be a semi-reliable bullpen guy. Working regularly, getting guys out.

he'll do alright in Spring Training, but there is nothing he can do in 30 exhibition games that are going to convince anyone. I doubt he'd be a disaster or a blight in the lineup if it came to that, his OBP would help, etc, but that ship has probably sailed. Unless Murphy gets injured and none of the other guys hit to even Tejada levels, he'll probably be shipped off for some given up on draftee from Toronto or something. I could certainly see him ending up contributing as part of a 70-30 type platoon somewhere and making the World Series though. that seems about right.

last year's thread It's that time of year again! tickets going on sale and what not! Just bought tickets to Mets @ Red Sox for St Patrick's Day. Of course, i was only able to get standing room tickets since they seem to have sold out in a half hour.

I tend to agree with Cerrone here. Although he technically is agreeing with my comment on that post. It's early. I do feel like the leaks with Omar got worse and worse. I'm not sure what prompts other people to talk as the situation gets worse, or if it's just they've built up a bigger relationship with some of the media guys. Although, Sandy sent an email out today saying they just had two days of meetings, which you think would've gotten reported right? and isn't Collins having a pre-camp workout day or something? That's gotta be soonish. Maybe the reporters were just working less hard over the holidays?
