  1. He was on ESPN a couple of months ago. I'd seen his stuff on Youtube some time ago and love it. Very entertaining.
  2. That's a horribly run franchise and as usual the manager is left to fall on the sword. For the love of God, they don't even have an actual GM. It's not as if he'd lost the team as is often the case. Pitching is rancid and replaced Randy St.Clair aabout a month ago. Maybe that move will pan out but replacing Acta with Riggleman is no step in the right direction. Reinvest some of the cash the Lener's are making back in the club and put a real front office together. Manny will land on his feet. Fire Razor and bring Manny back as third base coach.
  3. WTF...Go out for dinner and a movie with the Mrs. and the Mets actually win a game. From an offensive standpoint loks like nothing after the second. I'll have to review on mlb.com.
  4. Who's that Mr. Met wanna be in the last picture???
  5. I guess Francoeur has more upside than Church IF potential can translate to perrformance. If not, it seems to have been done to say Omar did something while Flushing was burning.
  6. Hope that called third strike wasn't too stressful to Votto. Hate to see him on the DL again. Does a third trip for stress signify PTSD?
  7. Nick playing the no doubles defense at 11-2. Nice!
  8. Wonderful to hear about the great chemistry in the dugout. Now win some fucking games, damnit.
  9. Fucking Jerry just seems like a bystander tonight. I like how Ron declared it a blowout at 10-2. I think that could have been called at 4-0.
  10. Wow, that'll leave a mark! Drill a couple more while you're at it.
  11. Is it me or am I imagining this. It seems the Dodgers are hitting the ball hard -- not necessarily out of the park but driving the ball on a line and with a purpose. Mets just seem to be dinking and dunking. More often than not lazy flies, rolling over ground balls, etc. Oh look, Jerry's looking to Stoke the fire with Brian.
  12. Finally...a happy recap!
  13. WTF, Frankie. Throw a damn strike.
  14. Wow, late inning lead. How unusual. Spent the last five days up in NY and was amazed listening to WFAN and how crazed things are -- made CPF sound like a positive affirmation get together. Not really having anything close in Tampa and listening exclusively to satelllite radio, I had forgotten how rediculous the callers are. Haven't read through the thread but tonight actually looked like Bad Ollie with a fairly positive outcome. Two full months on the DL and they couldn't retrain him to throw strikes. Ollie is the poster child for million dollar arm (well $36mm) and fifty cent head.
  15. He felt bad he hadn't given him anything else. Here's hoping he continues to develop or at least gets a pitching coach who might be able to help in that endeavor -- Warthen sucks!
  16. The only bright side to tonight's game is that I wasn't there. Was supposed to be but a family thing while we're up here visiting and had to pass on the game. Saw some of it and Pelfrey continues to baffle me. Walking in the run and bloop hit made me want to throw something through my sister-in-law's beautiful TV. Also baffling was Hirshbeck's strike zone. I'm surprised Manny didn't spit at him tonight. Incredibly inconsistent, Some pitches looked like he was squeezing Pelfrey, others horrible calls like a couple on Manny.
  17. Damn, I am glad I missed today's game. Just saw the low-lights on the 11 'clock news and was disgusted to see more dropped balls and errant throws leading to opportunities for the fillies. We do suck, don't we.
  18. No argument here. At least someone with a voice and perspective is calling it what it is.
  19. Howie Rose just reports that the clubhouse has been closed much longer than usual tonight. Now this should be interesting.
  20. ="Ashie62":3bfwesuy]="PiggiesTomatoes":3bfwesuy]That's scary and frankly an indication of the pitchers having a piss poor approach to their job. You can't take off every ninth batter. Just poorly prepared pitchers and a lack of concentration.[/quote:3bfwesuy] Poorly prepared..ask Warthen[/quote:3bfwesuy] Agreed. How was he more qualified/a better choice than Peterson? Frayed Knot Jun 30 2009 08:56 PM Blaming the pitching coach is a crutch. What does "poorly prepared" even mean here -- that they not aware it's the pitcher at bat? So unless Warthen is giving them instructions to pitch to pitchers differently then they'd do otherwise (and I'm not buying that for a second) it's poor execution, not coaching.
  21. Ahhh, the old 9th innning, 6-6-3 double play. Excellent!
  22. That was a lot of jiggling on that run in. He looked like he was being chased.
  23. On the bright side, because the MLB Extra Inning feed is the Brewers annoucers, I put on the FAN and get steady Eddie Coleman, in for the illin' Hagin. A little sunshine on an otherwise dreary evening.
