  1. Aaron Hielman signs a minor league deal with the Fillies. I hadn't realized the the Diamondbacks had dropped him.
  2. Time for the happy recap!
  3. Five straight (and six of his last seven) multi-hit games for Wright. Healthy? Looks like it.
  4. Very nice, ESPN Gamecasting this at work. Wish I was watching it. Seems like Cap has settled down from a shaky first inning.
  5. Puddy gets the K and we get the happy recap. Good W after pissing away the lead.
  6. JT cracked me up and, yes, Buck blows.
  7. Imagine he was still wearing a Mets' uniform. That was a great deal. Heard him with Chris Russo the other day. Great perspective and handle on things.
  8. If all the MFY's were at the game, I'm sure the AL would be up by 5 runs and Rivera would shut down the NL in the 9th.
  9. They even went as far to bring up DJ3k's bullshit calf injury.
  10. Edgy DC wrote: "Narrative on his side" is a bit Machiavellian. How so? The implication to me is that more went into the decision than the obvious...but I'm just jaded. :-)
  11. Tall glass of water should have been out of it. Thanks, Murph.
  12. Sort of sounded to me it's how all of our lives are better for just having lived at the same time as the Great DJ3k.
  13. "Narrative on his side" is a bit Machiavellian. For my two cents, DiMaggio realized he was done, Mantle was just coming up and it was what it was. I'd argue all day that DiMaggio was at least twice the player DJ3k is. 10 WS in 13 seasons and 9 wins. Missed the prime of his career (28 to 30 years old) to military service. Didn't see combat and basically did PR but he enlisted all the same. Three-time MVP and if you look at the '37 and '48 voting, it looks like was was robbed.

About an hour into the game, I got tired of hitting refresh and went to bed without seeing a single pitch. Funny and great to wake up and have the computer screen staring me in the face with that lovely boxscore, and Wilson's ridiculous visage displayed under "Loss." Looking forward to figuring out what this passage quoted above could possilby mean. That was a great post. Duda fielded a grounder to the right of first and stumbled once moving to the bag. He wound up crawling and touching the bag with his glove. Dickey got to the bag first, followed by Duda with Sandoval a close third. Again, great post. When I first read it, I thought it could have been the results from one of those dopey mascot races.
  15. Evans has looked lost but that was a nice knock.
  16. Here's hoping Beato can leave one stranded.
  17. Oops...one of the few benefits of being in Tampa. Nice scramble by Duda.
  18. Worst part of mlb network is the constant DJ3k promo in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  19. Why are you even listening to them?
