  1. [slow, sarcastic clap]
  2. Oh, FUCK a bunt. With all due respect, Gary and Keith, STFU.
  3. Just took a Nimmo foul ball in the face-- Barksdale is a tough old ump. I mean, he's also kinda terrible at calling balls and strikes. But still... tough.
  4. Now Neshek for an inning or two. Plus, I think they just recalled that Arano kid with the nasty slider from last year. Extra-inning game or no last night, the Phillies still have more quality length in the bullpen.
  5. Relentless change-ups from a soft-tossing lefty to righties with men in scoring position. I almost-- ALMOST-- want a hit/loss here, if only so Mickey doesn't learn the wrong lesson here.
  6. I don't fucking know anymore. I mean, they've called up Drew Gagnon. They've got Sewald. THEY'VE GOT GODDAMN DIAZ.
  7. I *hate* bringing guys in with the bases loaded, especially when those guys are Mets relievers, who can't throw strikes for shit. At my daughter's first Little League game last week, our nine-year-old pitcher-- an athletic kid, but a first-timer on the mound-- was laboring a bit, and racked up two walks. His father (something of a "Come ON, Connor" Alpha) was at the fence, and grumbling to the manager a bit. Our manager turns to him, and quietly says, "I don't want the kid to lose heart. Do you want me to take him out?" Alpha Dad says nothing. Manager turns back to the game, and to nobody in particular, says, "Anybody I bring in here is going to walk two guys right after coming in anyway." I mean, he gets it.
  8. It feels like a walk-off is coming.
  9. Then fuck a big-boy save. Just get this out.
  10. Gsellman. Ugh. If this isn't a spot for the big-money closer to go big-boy save, what is?
  11. Still a dribbler/ducksnort/Familia dirtjob away from a tie bawwgame.
  12. Is it weird that the one guy who's given me the comfy-slippers feeling tonight from the moment he stepped on the mound was Lugo? FFS, Familia-- you had 20 minutes to warm up.
  13. They just walked Nimmo to get to you, Big Dick Energy. Punish them. Big Dick Energy? what the heck was happening when this forum was down? http://thecranepool.net/phpBB32/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28215PSST! Nimmo was walked because the pitcher went 2-0 on him.

  15. Syndy is flatlining.
  16. Cano to JCL: kiss my gapper.
  17. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Was getting ready to throw Ramos under the bus along with Cano. Nice, 3-0 Buck the heck? Ramos has been solid, and extra RISPy.
  18. Disappointing response from Syndy last half-inning. Thankfully, Nola is just as iffy tonight. More so, maybe. I'm guessing the wind is murder on grips?
  19. It's no wonder his fielding is a bit questionable. I'd be shocked if there weren't any... catching difficulties with this one.
  20. Fine with it. And hey-- it worked! Drama-free and loving it.
  21. Minter's beard is a little extra, as the kids say. It's like face turf.
  22. He went somewhere? Cripes, people-- he had a bad WEEK.
  23. Plus, there's always at least one dangerous pinch hitter lurking on the bench (Alonso, e.g.). Lineup looks a lot stronger top to bottom like this, doesn't it? This is a pretty deep, versatile offensive team. (Consider: neither Lowrie nor Cespedes has seen the field yet.)
  24. Blergh.
