  1. Eh, spends most of the season in Vegas, comes up when the injury bug bites, does nothing of consequence, goes back down to Vegas. Watches his wife on TV.

  3. He's a sideshow. My gripe is that today he'll be getting at-bats that could have gone to somebody who in this universe would have a shot of someday actually playing for the Mets. Billy Crystal actually got to bat in a Yankees spring training game, so I guess there's been worse.
  4. Changed the way baseball was broadcast, and the Mets were lucky to have him for 40 years. Still remember McCarver teasing him constantly in the '80's and Webb always able to pull up a camera shot to tease him back. Made everyone he worked with better.
  5. Cespedes has looked good. Worry about the quad, though.
  6. Just for fun I want to duct tape a 40 of Colt .45 to my hand this weekend just to see how it feels.
  7. Never makes the Mets, but earns a modest living with bit parts in Jackie Chan movies.
  8. Moves into the #4 slot when someone inevitably gets injured. Has a nice year- 12-8, 3.50.
  9. I believe he has a March 24th opt-out clause in his contract to request his release. I say, 'please proceed, Mr. Gorzelanny'.
  10. Well, he was right about those two balls being called strikes. But, yeah he has a bad rep and the Alderson Mets tend to go for character guys. As others have said, we need to figure out what we have with our own up-and-coming infielders first.
  11. Hmm. Not a good second inning. What is that big bandage on Harvey's neck?

Luis had it coming RIGHT AT HIS HEAD and was just like BOOM I GOT THIS. Awesome. That's the thing. Anybody's natural instinct is to duck and cover. It's like people have been throwing bats at him his entire life, and he's like, "Yeah, okay."

  16. Gets to work on his Binghamton accent.
  17. MFS62 wrote: Guilty until proven innocent. .245-12-38 in 110 games interrupted by 3 stays on the DL. Later This is where I am. I'm unconvinced he can put together a healthy, productive season. Work hard, Tomas Nido.
  18. They'll be able to sneak him through waivers at the end of the spring and send him to Vegas. So on the makey-breaky scale, it's mostly breaky for Josh.
  19. This kind of solves the 'who leads off' problem, until Reyes gets hurt of course.
  20. Benjamin Grimm wrote: batmagadanleadoff wrote: Why not Flores? He hits lefties like he's Willie Mays in his prime. What has to happen for Flores to get more playing time than he's gotten? I think that when there's a lefty starter, Flores will see quite a bit of time at first base. Yup, I'd expect that Reyes will settle in at third now, so Wilmer will be the floater at 1st/2nd/3rd, as the rest of the infield will need days off.
  21. Well, what they really need to get rid of is Glamour.
  22. 14-9, 3.25. Good enough.
  23. Depends on things outside of his control, which is why he's hard to predict. Bruce gets traded in the spring, he has a full year. Bruce gets traded in July, he gets half a year. Somebody gets injured, he's on speed dial in Vegas. Can't even hazard a guess at his numbers, although his start has to be putting some pressure on Sandy to make a move. Just don't see him in the majors without somebody else leaving because you're not going to bring him up to rot on the bench, and you're not going to pay Jay Bruce $13 million to do Sudoku in the dugout for seven innings until he pinch-hits.
  24. I think we'll see a lot of Wilmer over there, and let's hope Smith keeps raking in Vegas because you might see him sooner than later. Just stay away from the buffet tables, Dominic.
  25. I'm working out most every day and watching what I eat They tell me that it's good for me, but I don't even care I know that it's crazy I know that it's nowhere But there is no denying that......I'll be hobbled by nagging injuries- 12 HR/48 RBI/ .250 in limited action. LB5YkmjalDg
