First game Zambrano against Jeff WeaverI go for Z, but neither's a Seaver. Then Pedro counters D. J. Houlton,His body's large, his stats revoltin'.Brad Penny offers no surprises,He wears down as his pitch count rises. The closer's Yhency Brazoban,He ain't no Eric Gagne, man.Phillips is slumping. Even on track The Mets aren't likely to want him back.Hee-Sop Choi's got style and verve,Too bad he can't hit the curve. As for Jeff Kent, his stats are strong,But no team keeps him around for long.Mike Edwards may have what it takes,But put him down for some rookie mistakes.A decent season for Izturis,Look for our guys to give him tsuris.Jayson Werth is 6 foot 5,Doesn't get too many balls to drive. For center, J. D. Drew is sitting,From Jason Repko, little hitting.Who else? Robles? Rick Ledee?Do we believe these guys can play?Dodgers are slumping; meanwhile, speakingRelatively, Mets are streaking. They're far away from Chavez Valley. We'll never forgive the snake O'Malley.

Gave it three stars. It wasn't awful. It would have been better if it had been. But a comic book origin story should be the length of a comic book, not of a full length movie, and it works because it's part of a larger universe of other comic books, other stories. Here there's only the one fight scene, and it makes them seem like a collection of one-trick ponies.

At one point last week, according to Elias, the Mets were .500 in day games, night games, one-run games and extra-inning games. They were also .500 in games against right-handed starters and against left-handed starters.

Why do I not think of Murray in the same class as Aaron and Mays.

It's false, and not funny enough to post.

I play Diamond Mind too, but not Virtual Draft Leagues. Right now I'm replaying the 1948 season.

Why have the Mets never cared about OBP from a leadoff man?
-
It was assault, and he should be facing criminal charges, and he ought to be convicted. And then, probably probation and community service rather than prison, but it shoud be on his record.
