  1. I guess Nido used up his quota of good baserunning beating that hit out.
  2. Two-strike infield hit for Nido!!
  3. Look at McNeil after his RBI triple. He's spending a lot of time on his face this series.
  4. Ethnic guy wants to assure me of the authenticity of Subway's Italian-American fare, but inexplicably can't pronounce "capicola."
  5. You shouldn't fuck with scorpions.
  6. Yeah, that's more accurate. Also, it ain't 1985 in St. Louis. Humbert threw nothing but offspeed stuff that inning. I thought the Mets would get to him.
  7. There you go. Sean Feed-Rollie allows the inherited runner to score, but otherwise stems the bleeding.
  8. SR-F will be a contributor this year. Write it down. Also, the boxscore suggests Mets appear to have put the ball in play this game, but it doesn't feel like it.
  9. Canó's vertical leap didn't really help there either, huh? Williams isn't getting any breaks here.
  10. Translation for Perdomo: "I forgive."
  11. Maybe, but the other two guys on that play didn't do much better. That's seemingly a couple of times this season that Lindor's stayed back on balls he needed to get to faster.
  12. Williams up against it in the first. First and third, one out, desperate for a DP.
  13. That's your team OPS leader Brandon Nimmo leading off with a nine-pitch walk.
  14. Nick Ahmed finally gets back and they give him a day off. Backs loading up on switch hitters. 15. A rainout Friday pushes Cabrera's 3,000-quest into this afternoon as the Tigers host the Rockies for a doubleheader.
  16. Nimmo appeared to have had a glove issue. I don't know if that messed up Diaz, but it sure seemed like exactly the sort of thing that could take him off his game. Christian Walker's homer off of May was on a really good pitch, but the homer Diaz gave up to Varsho was on the hangingest slider I've ever seen him leave hanging.
  17. METS WIN!!! Key to the game: Jeff McNeil playing outstanding outfield from second base.
  18. Ah, fartschool. Winning run on first and Walker back at the plate.
  19. OK, down to the last out for a second time.
  20. Excellent. Really close, but he was safe.
  21. Crappo. Infield out and everything goes wrong.
  22. Keep in mind that our Pete Alonso, our soft RBI specialist, is out of the game.
