  1. Gore is going to get a trip to the plate!
  2. Alex Bohm does not get the job done. Jackson Stephens, who needs a first name, done struck him out.
  3. Harper intentionally walked. Yay! I don't have to root for Harper!
  4. Apparently, Gore can play some center after all.
  5. And here in the eighth, Alonso and Lindor slide over a few more beads on the abacus. 6. We have a new team RBI champ, and he has time to add to his lead. Rusty Staub held the team mark through 1991, and now he's looking like he's about to fall to 20th. 7. Seventy-two pitches through five for Scherzer. I'd send him back out there. Buck might not.
  8. I have to say that watching the outfielders fight the afternoon sun in Oakland the last few days really gives me a 1973 series vibe.

  10. Meek, elderly, mannerly British haberdasher has set up a nice little shop in 1950s Chicago. Unfortunately, the neighborhood is ruled by a small-time organized crime outfit that hopes to graduate to the big leagues. Beyond ignoring what goes on as he makes all the scumbag gunsels look classy, he's expected to allow his shop to be used as dropbox for communications and payments. He tries to remain uninvolved and keep his nose straight, until one December night when the boss' son stumbles through the front door with a bullet in his gut. 11. Originally, I thought all the Athletics had the names of politicians, but now that I've seen Brown batting after Murphy a few days in a row, I realize that they're all named after sitcoms.

  13. And the great comeback's not gonna happen.
  14. Alonso is the tying run here on triple deck.
  15. I'm not sure Ruf should have been hitting there. Nimmo and Vogo are available.
  16. Well, McNacker, I was just about to scold you for swinging at the first pitch, you lucky man.
  17. The outside pitches being called strikes by this Hernandez guy are getting me antsy.
  18. Gosh, Ruf doesn't get down the first base line much faster than Vogelbach.

Are you being facetious or are you not watching the broadcast where Gary and Ron have mentioned this umpteen times? It hadn't been mentioned at the time I wrote that comment, but I think there was a delay in submitting. My apologies.
  20. Sole possession of seventh place all-time. Currently looking ahead to fifth. 22. I'm not sure I've ever seen deGrom get a strikeout on the curve.
  23. V[bIGPURPLE]1[/bIGPURPLE]entos!
  24. I fully expect deGrumbly to right this ship by the second inning, but I think we're going to see Peterson or Megoose in the middle of this game.
