1. Mets caught a basestealer! Replace J.D. Martinez with Christian Scott or somebody for your magic baserunner?
2. Well, this has been some old-school pre-pitch-clock baseball.
3. If they don't TCB here, it's Reid-Foley next out of the pen, right?
4. Also, despite what the booth is saying, I think this was a foul ball.
5. Neither the fastball nor the slider have their life.
6. Bryson Stott and Edwin Diaz conspire to make that Alec Bohm error count.
7. Keith checking out on his grand-daughter's graduation ceremony and forgetting who the speaker was is SO on-brand. I don't know how good a speaker he is, but it turns out that it was Steve Wozniak, who's not a nobody.
8. Well, Ottavino clearly loves Schaefer Beer, because he's having more than one.
9. Didn't Alex Bohm have a fielding meltdown against the Mets a year or two ago? I'm pretty sure it was in Philly because I remember him hearing it from the crowd.
10. I don't cotton to this "He always has the green light." If a pitcher's in a hole, let him keep digging.

Both are indy league vets, and both have been rocking some 9+ ERAs. Griff had been with the Mets since 2021. David Peterson, Tylor Megill, and Kodai Senga are on a pretty tightly aligned recovery schedule, so the Mets could soon have a real bottleneck in their starting rotation, which is already bursting to the megills with six members. The Mets aren't being clear on their site about the nature of the Fujinami transaction, but reporting seems to suggest that he's being promoted to be placed on the 15, in order to make him eligible for the 60-Player Injured List down the road, as they may need the roster spot, and guys on the 40 who are placed on tthe 60-Day as minor-leaguers apparently count against the roster limit, while Major Leaguers do not.
12. Manaea is indeed dealing, retiring seven in a row, but having thrown 100 pitches through six, he's unlikely to taste the seventh.
13. Harper taking two fastballs after being up 3–1. Thanks, man!
14. You gotta put aside your RBEyes with the bases loaded. Just hang in there and let the pitcher panic hisself into making a mistake.
15. Sorry. Having a little dog trouble today that's affecting my lineup skill set.
16. Appears to be something wrong with J.T. Realmuto as well, with the late-filing of the lineup card showing the star catcher missing his second consecutive start. The replacements leave Phillie heading out against Manaea with a lefty-heavy lineup. 17. Of all Rob Manfred's screwing with the game in ways I object to, I have to give credit where credit is do. Baseball has finally broken the player barrier and it happened on his watch. Bravo for him.
18. Christopher Sanchez leads the charge for the Phillies against fellow-lefty Sean Manaea and your host New York Mets. The two division rivals have yet to match up this season, even during spring training, but now begin an unusual home and home series in which they play two at Citi Field and then head down to Citizens Bank Park for two more, to keep the schedule balanced relative to their two games in London where each will serve as "home" team for one game. Manaea and Sanchez have had similar seasons, but Sanchez has been a little stronger of late, with the Cards catching up to Manaea in the sixth his last time out. Still he's allowed only one home run in 35 1/3 innings all season. That stinginess will certainly be tested against Philadelphia, currently second in the league in long balls. Lest it go unsaid, they are first in all of baseball with regard to wins and losses, but the league-worst Miami Marlins walked off against them last night, so they are bound to be demoralized. Leadoff hitter and left-field guy Kyle Schwarber has missed the last two games while nursing a sore back. Shortstop Trea Turner is on the 10-day injured list, but backup Edmundo Sosa has been terrific on both sides of the ball.
19. I wasn't feeling good about this coming down to Marte, particularly after his two early strikeouts, even though it was against a lefty, even though he had subsequently gotten a knock. He really seems to be carrying a lot out there — indeed he is, certainly. I was trying to nonetheless straighten out my attitude and trying to get myself in a place where he was exactly who I wanted, and I confess that I was kind of looking past Nimmo.
20. Got six big games coming up against an MLB-best Phillies squad, followed by a pair against the Marlins, currently with the worst record.
