We only discovered him when we were looking for a better photo of Nomar Meza. We found one in a Mexican outlet, along with a story that — surprise! — Meza was not signed alone. The Mets briefly had a catcher in the organization, recently departed, named Fernando Villalobos, from the same region of Los Estados Unidos Mexicanos, but with a different hometown, so we cannot yet conclude there is a direct relation, but our investigators are on it. Meza was added (possibly along with the mysterious Villalobos) to the DSL-Orange roster a day or so ago, but it wasn't worth reporting out with their photos repeated. It used to take several days to clear waivers, but in the digital age, teams get their chance and they'd better pounce.
3. Mets a game below .500 and a game and a half out of the last Wild Card spot. And when they're rockin' on the mic, you should all applaud!
4. Nope. Just happens to be the same starting lineup, excepting the pitcher, of course.
5. Same lineup as yesterday. Mendoza don't wanna rock the boat.
6. The weird thing to me is that's five minutes of air time on a show folks listen to.
7. Sorry, Don Baylor, but home-field rules keep the DH out of the lineup. You should just be happy that you don't have to see Rusty Staub for more than one plate appearance tonight. I'm tempted to gloat, but Mookie is apparently out of the lineup tonight, and that damned boy-genius Johnson won't give up on Jerry Martin, and has old buddy batting leadoff. 9. Hosting the Yankees should always be combined with toasting the Yankees. Righty Luís Gil is the guy the Mets aim to light up. Lefty Sean Manaea defends for the homeboys. jump ahead to about 1:10 to get past the pointless prologue.
