  1. Fifty. Let's score fifty. I'll take ten now and forty more in the ninth. [bIGPURPLE]FIRE AND THUNDER, METS!! OMG! OMG! OMG! THAT'S A THING, RIGHT? OMG![/bIGPURPLE]

  3. I hope we see Max Kranick before the night is through. Benjamin Grimm wrote: I'd rather win the game. https://i.imgur.com/6rZ8g8R.jpeg>
  4. Mets booth keeps telling me how the Brewers have the superior pen, but they've been burning it far more liberally this series.
  5. =Centerfield post_id=173697 time=1728002494 user_id=65] Our turns at bat take like 30 seconds. Their half innings seem to go forever.
  6. Hit by pitch!! Our most effective weapon!!
  7. If we're not gonna walk at all, let's hit it to Frelick.

  9. One-for-nine with no walks the first time through is sub-optimal. Thank goodness for Lindor.
  10. Too much strikeoutage at the top of the order does not allow the Mets to at least advance that runner.
  11. Gary Sanchez hitting fifth and catching? We can exploit this, can we not?
  12. Perhaps, but often many of those strikeouts come from chasing balls outside of the zone. That isn't to say that he didn't miss a 3-1 (?) fastball right down the middle yesterday, because he did, but it would be better if he got two of those than one, and better still if he got three.
  13. Waddaya think of the lineup juggle? Iglesias back down to fifth. Does his awesome batting average but only meh power help Alonso see more strikes? Does it matter? Does the vote of confidence of bumping Alonso back up to cleanup matter? It's guesswork, especially over the short haul, but I want, like, 19 runs.
  14. Nine of them have the added bonus of not being John Sterling. It's a fraternity, though, and we probably have to be prepared for the notion that Sterling gets the nod just based on seniority. The J. Taylor Spink Award (which I don't think is called that anymore) has gone to both Bill Madden and Bill Conlin, who both kind of j. taylor stink.
  15. If you believed that, he wouldn't be out there in the first place. There was no reason to believe he was tiring. There was no reason to believe he was a worse matchup against the coming batters. There was no demonstration that he wasn't in control of his stuff. There are only going to be so many guys who are effective on a given day. The best way to make sure you have any one of them on the mound is to stick with somebody who has demonstrated he is one of them. If he falters, the next guy is still available. If the next guy is put in pre-emptively, and he falters, you've already burned that opportunity.
  16. Good pen or bad pen, I always recommend trying to get one more out from the guy that's already getting the job done.
