Presumably, Christian Encarnacion-Strand will eventually turn a corner, but it is an open question as to how long they will wait for him. It will also be interesting to see if this is the end of the road for Ground Chuck, who is off to an impressive 0–5 start.

Each win by the Mets means the team makes a generous donation to The Katz Institute for Women's Health, and Katz has had a really good six days. Tomorrow they try to go from "really good" to "perfect" with a chance to sweep the homestand and put a real crimp in the aspirations of the defending division champs. David Peterson is back on the mound against Zack Wheeler, whose heart just hasn't been in the right place the last few years. Best thing about Torrens is that he somehow knows he belongs. He is having a bad homestand, they let him bat against the righty with two out and the sacks packed while Nimmo and Baty sit, he gets in an 0-2 hole chasing sliders away, and he gives no shits.
