  1. Poor New Mexico landowner, in a pique over a lack of work, decides to irrigate his beanfield, despite obscure water rights prohibitions that have shut down all the local farmers. His momentary act of defiance triggers a land war between the citizens of a dying town and land developers, along with the politicians in their pockets. Local law enforcement and others in the ensemble cast get caught in the middle. [FIMG=350]https://xl.movieposterdb.com/11_09/1988/95638/xl_95638_61ca14b0.jpg[/FIMG]
  2. It seems like every living Hall-of-Famer I've read about giving comments on this is giving their mealy-mouthed consent to his enshrinement. I get it. Their identity revolves around being citizens of baseball, and if the cultural wind is shifting, they find it most advantageous to shift with it. Still really stinks. Doesn't anybody have any heart in this country? It would sure be nice if Nolan Ryan or somebody came out and said, "No fuckin' way."
  3. I like that football isn't the only sport where you can decline penalties.
  4. Best Edwin appearance of the season.
  5. It is nice to see Edwin open with 99 He mostly has been coming in with 95 or 96 and then gaining velocity late in his outing. But get it over, man.
  6. This is a sharper Yankee team. If this was 2024, surely Gleyber or Rizzo would have broken this game open for the Mets by now. Time to strap in.
  7. About time this game got an Acuña factor injected into it.
  8. Reedy has shown some real hole-digging abilities of late.
  9. Vientos needs a six-foot bat these days.
  10. The cool thing about Brazzy is that the Mets acquired him last year only to see him bloom for themselves here in 2025.
  11. Wow. His lead foot was up too. Weird stuff to see hundreds of millions invested in these rosters and nobody knows how to slide.
  12. Top of the seventh. Time to put up a 15-spot.
  13. There seemed to be the slightest hitch in Alonso's throw to the plate, but he got his man because, again, the front leg went over and past the plate, and the runner got tagged on his trailing leg.
  14. There's the first of the 17 runs!
  15. Counting Steinbrenner Field as an MLB park was tricky.
  16. I imagine the fourth ballpark where that is a homer is in Philadelphia.

  19. And then bad. Maybe they had to get the boo-Soto game out of their system, or something.
  20. Tying run suddenly on deckles!
  21. A lot of walks and a lot of three-ball counts all night.

  24. Turning around Devin Williams' season was not on my agenda.
