  1. I'm hap to to do the other two.
  2. Sure. Me, for instance.
  3. Drew Storen is on his way to see Dr. Andrews, which is almost never a good thing. The team suspects bone spurs. Looks like Henry Rodriguez is going to get a long look at closer. Also piling up the missed games. R. Ankiel: 15-day DL C. Kimball: 60-day DL C. Marrero: 60-day DL M. Morse: 15-day DL C. Wang: 15-day DL
  4. No, Fernando is currently playing left field for the Oklahoma City RedHawks. But he's hitting the ball well in his first four games.
  5. Maxwell claimed by the Astros.
  6. Not using the Jacobean "Thy" however.
  7. Jordany Valdespin gets his third straight start in center tonight. His first night game out there.
  8. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: Center fielder Roger Bernandina is from Curacao and once had anal with Fransisco Rodriguez if I remember my history. I seem to recall Bernadina came up and played pretty poorly but turned the corner with a hot series against the Mets. Pretty ripped torso on that guy, too.
  9. Updated to include the enemy. Derosa draws the short straw for left field. Desmond, ssEspinosa, 2bZimmerman, 3bLaRoche, 1bWerth, rfDeRosa, lfBernadina, cfFlores, cJackson, spTejada, ssMurphy, 2bWright, 3bDavis, 1bBay, lfDuda, rfThole, cNieuwenhuis, cfPelfrey, sp
  10. Wow, two hours late on Ryan Zimbabwe with no new information. I suck.
  11. Over at third, Ryan Zimmerman has been the class of the league at the position as David Wright's star has receded, winning two silver sluggers and a gold glove in 2009 and 2010, but sharing Wright's fate last year, losing time and effectiveness to injury, interestingly enough to the same injury that Wright sustained this spring, a tear of the rectus abdominis. So now, healthy and whole, he's... well, he's been terrible is what he's been. As good as Wright has hit over the first three games, he's hit as poorly, going .091 / .231 / .091 // .322. Not very meaningful, but not the start they wanted to see after his buzzkill year in 2011. I tend to think there's a conservation of awesome with Wright and Zimmerman, that when one of them excels, the other must recede.
  12. Hey, you were the one who euphemized Ozzie as "quotable" when what you really meant was that he was an uunrestrained jackass.
  13. Pitchers and Poets thinks fantasy baseball is the enemy of baseball cards. No No-Hitters looks at yesterday's game and is reminded of the Curse of Clay Kirby. The Kranepool Society celebrates the home-grown-iness of the Met lineup, but spells mercenaries with an apostrophe.
  14. People fucking hate him, but the rest is true.
  15. I'm good if the wheels fall off both teams somehow this series.
  16. Bigger blast from the past: Jeff Pico or Marvell Wynn?
  17. Marlins put up a run each in the fourth and fifth and now lead 3-0. Cole Hamels: only the third worst hitter in today's Phillie lineup.
  18. Homeboy, ss Homeboy, 2b Homeboy, 3b Homeboy, 1b Almost Homeboy, lf Homeboy, rf Homeboy, c Homeboy, cf Homeboy, sp The last time the Mets went with 88% farm products:

  21. I don't hate any of the Phillies particuarly. Phillie culture, eh, that's another thing.
  22. Including a hot-diggity dog homer to right center
  23. I like how Terry's principle about not wanting to put too much pressure on Ruben Tejada by making him leadoff hitter in addition to it being his first season entering the year as the team's fulltime shortstop... lasted all of one game. I guess the principle doesn't apply in an emergency, like Torres going down with an injury. If things work out, he may find just enough logic to make the emergency exception last all season long.
  24. People seem to be laying off the division rivals. We can team up on those.
  25. The Herd is 3-1 and tied for first. They've had 14 innings pitched by their bullpen so far, and haven't yielded a run. Val Pasucucci has two homers already, and Bobby Scales has been a hit machine.
