  1. Belt seemed off the bag playing neighborhood ball there.
  2. Noonan is up and I start looking for quotes from Caddyshack.
  3. No doubles defense --- a one-run-prevention strategy that Eric Young likes to call "defense." Extra innings are brought to me by Wendy's, I believe.
  4. Rookie umpie takes a dumpie.
  5. Strap in. Ike, it's time.
  6. Murphy against Affeldt might be a good time to call Satin's number. (I type too slow.)
  7. OK, Freak's out of the game. Let's go get that run back.
  8. Wow, they're looking for another inning from him.
  9. Great junkie inning by Harv. Guessing he's done though, right?
  10. Nieuwie goes down on a high pitch, but in a zone that this ump suggests is one you have to defend.
  11. That's no triple, but I like it.

  13. Wow! Who triples down the left field line?
  14. I like an ump who calls the high strike, but that was no strike.
  15. Good job, Buck. That's a triple for 21 out of 25 Mets, I think. But I'll take it.

  17. Calling a homer for Nieuwie here.
  18. Somebody's teaching a clinic tonight, and it's not Harvey.
  19. Park didn't hold that. Can we stop talking about who starts the All Star Game and worry about winning the game?
  20. Nieuwie looks comfortable going back, and this is a park that holds the ball.
  21. One batter. One Korman.
  22. Mets go in order in the first. It's hard to accept that they Mets could be favored in a matchup against Tim Lincecum.
  23. Third base is the province of Pablo Sandoval, and after being spared the embarrassment of winning an All Star vote he should've had no part of, he can get back to work trying to save his worst season as a big leaguer. His numbers are down across the board, but the key number is 16, as in 16 extra base hits in 69 games all year. That's good for a .378 slugging percentage, and a .378 slugging percentage ain't good for much, and certainly not an All-Star Game. Sandoval took two weeks off in mid June with a foot injury, but it's not like he's been hitting since he got back. He hasn't.
