Shane Greeen of the Tigers: good slider. Sean Green of the Mets: not so much.

Good job bailing, Noah.

If the Tiggs score this inning, credit goes to them twice beating the relay to first.

Hope is free.

Kelly Johnson 0-for-15 with seven strikeouts in his career against Verlander and... KAPOW!

WtF is calling this game for SNY?

Sandy's all Yeah, we probably should have DL'd him earlier, and yeah, enough with the golf. Buried in the bottom of that piece is that the concern with Taijeron is his high strikeout rate.

And yet, they won't cut him loose until his agent comes crawling to them offering to renegotiate.

Lotsa lefties out there today. First seven guys in the batting order. Thus begins the Mets Let's-Use-An-Entire-Lefthanded-Outfield-Corps era. This is a strategy I cannot recommend. Things fall apart, the center cannot hold, and whatnot. Travis Taijeron has to be wondering what he has to do to get off of the crumb list. Third best ERA in the league despite Harvey never being right, Wheeler never arriving, and Mejia getting banned for life. I don't see how we could have asked for more.

Yeah, it's like they're using a plausibly defensible deployment of their forces as a thin disguise for overt vindictiveness. [list:27j0lgzz]Joe Girardi : Alex Rodriguez :: Jerry Manuel : Ollie Perez[/list:u:27j0lgzz]

Unfortunately not.

Stop shooting people down!

Yeah, sorry. I'm not characterizing you, so much as myself, suggesting, "I'm hesitant to make a big deal out of this, but it may be a big deal."

He might have a little more copyright wiggle room if you re-conceived the skyline as silhouettes of taps or something.

I sure am reluctant to making a big deal out of a whispering campaign about what a guy does in his leisure time, but it's the second time he's got hit with a key injury in the late innings of a game after illustrated reports of him spending the morning on the links, leaving the Mets in the rough.

It's obviously all in the soup, but I consider Dilson to be the Byrdbooty, and Vic Black to be the Buckbounty. Interestingly, Black, unemployed the last time I checked, has more WAR thus far.

The Mets. Ultimately, they flipped Marlon Byrd at the end of 2013 for Jay Bruce in the middlish of 2016. We'll see, but that doesn't look like particularly bad work, right?

I've spotted Barwis once or twice in the dugout during the Yankee series. It seems a little unusual. It's certainly the first time I've recognized him. Aren't you only supposed to have two members of the training staff out there?

Ashie62 wrote: Garbage in garbage out. I'm not sure I get the meaning of this. Herrera, who I mostly expected to head right to the majors for Cincinnati, reported instead to Louisville, where his debut as a bat included three hits, including a triple off the centerfield wall.

No it's not, don't, and you're not allowed to. Why do you always want to win the race to Quitsville?

Golf.

Broke Delgado's record for most homers in his first 162 scheduled games as a Met.
