  1. So, great job by Matz, but which relievers are we going to see tonight? Wilson y Familia?
  2. You were hoping for Tebow too, huh?
  3. Yeah, that was meat. This team needs to fill the pitching coach slot, but I'm really developing a crush on Phil Regan. Seeing all these mesomorphs high-fiving Conforto, and Phil going in for his dibs was sweet.
  4. The idea that Mike Trout will be traded now or in the future is far from unfathomable.
  5. That's a good name for a US figure skater. Or a summer intern. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0797/7239/articles/jeff_featured_1200x.jpg?v=1556723185>
  6. Joel Sherman is never wrong sometimes.
  7. Actually, that shouldn't have been all. I'd like to openly salute any fans back in Baltimore who hung in there for the whole game against Anaheim and got to see their manager be the first manager in history to successfully deploy a position player for a save. I imagine only a few 10-year-olds enjoying summer sleepovers were still tuned in.
  8. Not for nothing, but it's a good day when a Mets rookie, with one swing, ties Mickey Mantle, Hank Aaron, Lou Gehrig, Al Simmons, Willie Mays, Barry Bonds, and Babe Ruth. 9. Conforto calls off Canó for the last out and Canó makes a stinky face.
  10. Sweet double-play featuring a cannon throw by Rosito.
  11. Lonsie needs a defensive sub tonight.
  12. I can't figure out what Alonso was thinking there. It's like he was covering the coach's box instead of the bag.

  14. Mookie. That is all.

  16. I'm trusting Frazier more these days than Conforto or Ramos, but sure. Here's are the terrors of the high seas. Corey Dickerson (L) lf Adam Frazier (L) 2b Starling Marte ® cf Josh Bell (S) 1b Bryan Reynolds (S) rf Colin Moran (L) 3b Jung Ho Kang ® ss Elias Diaz ® c Dario Agrazal ® p The game will come down to which Frazier performs the best.

The order even changes in the offseason. Syndergaard's trade value is predominantly about his upside, his potential, his untapped ceiling, which Bill James's rankings ignores entirely. In Syndergaard's case, is the past merely prologue? Or is the past the future as well? TBD. Well, we're discussing his alleged irreplaceability, which to me refers to his current value. The ceiling he still has or may have is certainly up for a related and worthwhile debate, but no, you're correct, the rankings do not speak to that.
  18. Wheeler and Syndergaard are good... That's your point? Has anybody disputed this?
  19. I'm the only one who picked Frazier still. He's already been dealt at the deadline once.

  21. Big game for ex-Mets. Ruben Tejada and Dilson Herrera doubled for the second run, and Aaron Altherr homered for the first as well as making this game-ending play. https://secure.milb.com/assets/images/7/6/2/309416762/cuts/1280x720/cut.jpg>
  22. It'd be almost impossible to find someone as good. I hate trades, but the guy himself replaced R.A. Dickey after a Cy Young season (eventually, anyhow). Smart management finds good players, sometimes in the packages you traded players for. http://www.billjamesonline.com/polls_ratings/starting_pitcher_rankings/BillJamesOnline.com currently has Syndergaard as the 43rd-ranked starting pitcher, behind such luminaries as Jake Odorizzi, Wade Miley, and Shane Bieber. That's hardly the last word, but I'm not sure how one gets from 43rd-best to "almost impossible to find someone as good."
  23. Terrific player. Won't miss his goofy hair and manscaped eyebrows. https://a2.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=%2Fphoto%2F2014%2F0806%2Fmlb_u_tulowitzki11_1296x729.jpg>

It looks like it's in Dolphin colors or something, though.
