  1. Another fun fact: Of the 20,000 players, a full 0.01% are named Johneshwy.
  2. Bleier was rattled. Nido should have put the bat on his shoulder and made the guy throw strikes.
  3. Lucky, lucky, lucky Mets. They are getting four out of five breaks these days.
  4. Kind of goofy that they get burned shifting against Cooper when he hit it down Smith's throat last time up.
  5. Get up and shake it for the seventh-inning stretch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WGVgfjnLqchttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WGVgfjnLqc
  6. Just bunt Joneshwy. All day, every day.
  7. 2021 baseball being played today.
  8. Chad Wallach has his dad's loopy swing, but his but flies out.
  9. =roger_that post_id=65206 time=1621716522 user_id=128] H'worth and Severino interviewing Cookie Rojas now. Did he ever manage the Mets or just coach for them? Jeez he must be past 80 years old now.
  10. Nah, it's awesome.
  11. Looked a like like my friend Eric, and I loved him for it. This year, he lost the scruffy beard but kept the scruffy mustache, and I hated him for it. Originally acquired when the Mets ran out of roster room in January and had to DFA Josh Smoker and instead of waiving him, were able to get some more lefty relief action out of Danny Z.
  12. Is their new outfielder's first name pronounced pretty much as "Jeunesse, oui" is in French? What you're getting is probably more Syracuse than the Mets right now. But the Mets are hurt, and if these replacements are flawed in different ways, somebody's got them playing hard. Tomás Nido — young veteran backup catcher who has brought more consistency (offensive and defensive) to his game this year and may be stealing the starting job. James McCann — veteran platoon type catcher from the AL who had a breakthrough year last year and got a big old contract from the Mets. Coming over to the National League, he's got a big old hole in his swing. Dom Smith — slick fielding firstbaseman with a powerful stick in the middle of a big power slump. He's been playing left field for moszt of the last three seasons, but will see more time at his original position with Pete alonso hurt. Jose Perasa — line-drive hitting hutility infielder. Jonathan Villar — utility infielder, former stolen base champ, but surprising big and can knock it over the outfielders head. Jake Hagar — minor league emergency fill-in vet. Jack of all trades, master of none. Good for double switching. Cameron Maybin — wiry vet who has never lived up to his first-round pedigree, but still has a love for the game and is still a useful piece on any bench. Johneshywy Fargas — Minor league speed demon, finally getting his chance. Khalil Lee — Power/speed combo with a great glove and arm. He's got everything but he so far can't touch a big-league curveball. Definitely up a year or so early.
  13. We've had a guy we haven't even met sleeping in the guest room the last few weeks. He's 28 and was invited to spring training by the D-Backs, but found himself released in mid-March. He's got an arm that folks like but has had his career interrupted twice for major surgery.
  14. Yeah, the opener thing is jive coming and going. In theory, it means your starter can get deeper into the game. But when the managers get to the seventh, they're just going to try to engineer the last three innings, same as always.
  15. What knowledge are you looking for?
  16. Welcome aboard, Roger!
  17. The Mets take on the same Marlins team they outlasted last night. Righthander Pablo López starts on the hill for Marlins, while TBD opposes for the Mets. That's the official story, but my sources say Sean Gsellman-Yamamoto's getting the ball. ...
  18. That would take a lot of sucking.
  19. That 7-Day IL can be weird. A guy can come of just a day or two after he went on if you time it right. 20. Terrific thread, guys. Marshmallowmilkshake, don't leave the park. Just find a nice dark corner to crash in. Or, better yet, break into Jeter's box.
  21. IN-DAW BEEHS!! IN-DAW BEEHS!!
  22. WHAT a pick by Smitty.

  24. Really, they should just call up Syracuse manager Chad Kreuter, because this is his team doing this.
