    Worth noting that the spark that lit the fire here was Nimms leading off with the hustle single.

    They had an oh-for-37 streak with runners in scoring position in 2001. I feel like that was the streak the one that got the term "noffense" coined at the MOFo. And on that note Alonso ends our current streak with a two-run triple!

    I'm tending to think the McCann contract may work out a little bit, and he'll be a contributor to good teams. It's hard to be optimistic about anything the last few weeks, but McCann's problems this seasons seem to have been about 80% chasing sliders away against righties. Now that (a) he's laying off a little bit, and ( sliders have suddenly become less magical following the sticky-ban, he seems to hang in alright against them.
