  1. More than a few of us here are old enough to remember the days of 11 PM starts from the west coast. Of course those games probably still ended around the same time as today's 10:10 face-offs, but at least now it's easier to catch the beginnings of games.
  2. My point is that Familia pitched a full inning while giving up a single; a single single if you will as after that he went through Bryant, Belt, Crawford and Yastrzemski with the only runner coming via an intentional walk and not another ball leaving the infield. Framing that as a 'Blown Save', while technically true under the Covid-ed-Up rules presently in place, is, at best misleading, and at worst is framing facts so as to fit a predetermined conclusion.
  3. =MFS62 post_id=74925 time=1629331214 user_id=60] Familia is our MVP - Most Vulturous Pitcher.
  4. AND they ran out of position players despite starting with a (big for this era) six man bench. So, yeah, when you start with a smaller than normal bullpen and are forced into it in the 2nd, it might be worthwhile to allow one or two of them to get more than three outs, especially seeing as how every one of them put up a zero until the 9th.
  5. WE'RE MEDIOCRE! WE'RE MEDIOCRE!
  6. And i was just about to post about how,, just since the 9th inning, the Giants have had run-saving defensive plays at SS, 2nd, LF, and CF Couldn't defend that one though.
  7. I thought it was foul initially. Even in the few cases where we deserve a break we can't get one.
  8. Did they decide to broadcast from CT today just so Gary and Ron wouldn't have to deal with traffic? There's a delay in GC's calls
  9. Giants take a different route to moving the runner to 3rd. Now granted there's a difference between Posey & Mazeika
  10. And, as usual, the problem with the bunt strategy is that its proponents pre-assume success even as success rates plummet.
  11. Isn't this, like, the 11th lefty hurler the Giants have used in this game?
  12. Third Xtra innings game in six
  13. Actually Gary, had Conforto been running it's likely they run into a DP on account of a fielder covering 2nd
  14. Our odds of scoring a run just rocketed to well over 3%
  15. [CROSSOUT]Four pitches, two outs.[/CROSSOUT] Five pitches, three outs
  16. It's a one-run game with two innings still remaining, and yet the loss feels all but certain.
  17. It seems like most of our baserunners these days come via gifts: HBPs, Walks, errors, or just plays not made ... and we just continually give that edge back.
  18. That GiDP might keep Megill in the game as it kept him at 90 pitches thru six instead of ... who knows how many if the inning kept going.
  19. Well at least we followed up our lone solid hit of the game, a leadoff hit, with a pair of weak-ass grouders sandwiched around a medium-deep fly-out.
  20. Well, we have a HBP and a walk and a hit. Only one hit of course, Pete's weak grounder against the shift where the exit velo might have cracked double-digits. Other than that, three Giants pitchers have needed about 20 pitches to retire 12 batters. 11 actually thanks to the pickoff.
  21. Eh, no matter, they succeeded into not scoring anyway.
  22. They keep trying, but failing, to hit into GiDPs
