  1. I don't really want to claim this as a 'moral victory' simply because we didn't fall behind early with little chance to catch up. Let's win this fucker!!
  2. Yeah, it's not like you go up there thinking he's going to hurt you by pitching to him.
  3. Riley leaves the game early so we use that break to award his replacement 1st base twice. As mentioned in yesterday's IGT, I wonder if closer Rasiel Iglesias is available. 23 & 25 pitches the last two games. That's 3-1/2 innings worth of pitches in two innings over two days.
  4. Y'know what we didn't need there Otto ... a freakin' leadoff walk!!
  5. Pick-offs should be counted the same as caught steals. Cuz Acuna is killing his team's run scoring chances tonight.
  6. Frayed Knot wrote: We scored a leadoff base-runner!! And then stranded the second runner by spending the next three ABs not getting the ball past the pitcher's mound.
  7. We scored a leadoff base-runner!!
  8. Nice inning by SR-G, a couple Ks marred by an inherited runner scoring via a weak seeing-eye single.
  9. =MFS62 post_id=154989 time=1715466178 user_id=60] Some numbers: MLB OPS: .697 - lowest since 1989 (.695) MLB BA: .239 - lowest since 1968 (.237) MLB OBP: .312 - tied for lowest (2022) since 1972 (.311) MLB SLG: .385 - lowest since 1992 (.377)
  10. =bmfc1 post_id=155079 time=1715556104 user_id=73] ESPN showed a picture of Ozuna and his mother. She must be so proud: [bLOCKQUOTE]On May 29, 2021, Ozuna was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and battery after Sandy Springs Police claimed to witness him grabbing his wife by the neck and throwing her against a wall.[42][43] The charges were later withdrawn after completion of a diversion program. This resulted in Ozuna receiving a 20-game suspension which he served retroactively during the 2021 season.[44] This followed another incident that occurred almost a year prior when Guzman was arrested on her own domestic battery charge against her husband, hitting him with a soap dish which caused a small laceration on his face.[45] At 4 a.m. on August 19, 2022, Ozuna was arrested again and charged with driving under the influence after Norcross Police noticed his inability to stay in his lane.[/bLOCKQUOTE]
  11. As many hits thru 3 innings (now 4) as in the 18 innings of the first two games combined (five) It's ... something.
  12. Edgy MD wrote: Hey, we have Short on third. And Michael Harris the 2nd in Center
  13. A while back I posed a question as to which Marlin OF cast-off would turn out to have the better rest of his career, Yelich or Giancarlo Stanton The answer is now becoming clear, it's Marcel Ozuna. OK that's the short term answer right now but it is becoming a three man race particularly as the other two are far removed from their peaks.
  14. Edgy MD wrote: Leadoff singles in each of the first two innings, but so far unable to advance either. It's what we do.
  15. Time to place your bets on how many minutes of game time will be seen on a shrunken screen while ESPN opts instead to more prominently show the guy being interviewed about the ongoing game at the expense of showing the actual game itself. Your choices are: * 0-3 minutes * 3-5 minutes * Three or more full innings
  16. Used some BALL FOUR voodoo to get the 'Brewer'/Oriole (Gene Brabender) and 'Brewer'/Catcher (Jerry McNertney) categories today.
  17. Good thing the universal DH was implemented to boost offense, eh?
  18. Perhaps the oddness of someone Oquendo's size (5' 10"/160) playing 1B helped it lodge in peeps' minds. Turns out he played 'only' 23 games there, starting three including two CGs. I would have guessed more.
  19. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Serves the Braves right for the closer flex Yeah, kind of an odd call. 23 pitches last night for Iglesias and now 25 more today, both to protect multi-run leads.
  20. But, hey, the Nationals also lost today so we haven't yet totally lost sight of third place!
  21. And just think, tomorrow we get to embarrass themselves on national TV
  22. Well, that's ... something I guess.
  23. I wish I could say that there's a wee bit of tension here but there is none.
