  1. Yeah it should be great to see Pelfrey again......Jose Valentin would be comeback player of the year but for Nomar, but that's cool because I root for a guy like Nomar, no idea why but I like him.

  3. Bradford seems pissed, and is that really Wagner, he looks so different...
  4. One of the best concerts I ever saw was when I saw MeatLoaf at a hotel in Tipperary when I was about 16....the place held about 1000 people and it was an amazing show...me and my friends snuck in a flagan of cider each and got hammered......we still laugh about it.

  13. I'd hire ex yankees beacuse they'd bring that winning tradition with them, oh and I'd try and move the team to the West Side.
  14. This was the longest game in the history of the NY Penn League, the Pawtucket, Rochester game is still the longest prefessional game, Brooklyn ran out of pitchers so outfielder Mark Wright had to pitch and after his one scoreless inning he gave up 5 runs.Brooklyn's manager was ejected in the 1st inning, imagine having to watch that game from the clubhouse...

  20. No Bonds indictment, but grand jury still open THE ASSOCIATED PRESS July 20, 2006, 2:09 PM EDT SAN FRANCISCO -- Federal prosecutors said they would not seek an indictment Thursday against Barry Bonds, but that a grand jury investigating the baseball star for perjury and tax evasion charges would continue its work. "The United States Attorney's Office for the Northern District of California is not seeking an indictment today in connection with the ongoing steroids-related investigation," Luke Macauley, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office in San Francisco, said in a statement. "Much has been accomplished to date, and we will continue to move forward actively in this investigation -- including continuing to seek the truthful testimony of witnesses whose testimony the grand jury is entitled to hear," he said. Members of the grand jury investigating Bonds arrived at the federal courthouse Thursday for what was expected to be their final day of work. Mark Geragos, attorney for Bonds' personal trainer, told The Associated Press his client would be released later in the day from federal prison, where Greg Anderson was sent more than two weeks ago after he refused to testify to the grand jury. The judge said Anderson was to be held until he agreed to testify against Bonds or the grand jury's term expired. With the grand jury apparently being extended beyond Thursday, it was unclear whether Anderson still will be released.
  21. I would not be a bit surprised ir Omar signed him.
  22. What about Buck ONeill, is he a leftie?
  23. It would have been nice to have Marlon Anderson for such situations....
  24. Tony Clark would fit the bill except he's on the DL.
  25. The Bergen Record has a few old rumors to add... ] FREDDY GARCIA, White Sox An important part of the starting rotation that carried the White Sox to the 2005 World Series title, Garcia may nonetheless find himself in another uniform come August. Chicago has put out word that Garcia (or, less likely, fellow starting pitcher Javier Vazquez) could be had in a trade. Why? Because the White Sox want to upgrade their bullpen and possibly center field, and because they believe young pitcher Brandon McCarthy is ready to be a regular starting pitcher. Garcia would interest the Mets, who are looking to upgrade their starting rotation. But unless they're willing to ship back either Aaron Heilman or Duaner Sanchez, it's unlikely they'll make a deal. Chicago also has its eye on Phillies reliever Tom Gordon. Key Stat: Since pitching eight scoreless innings against the Cardinals on June 22, Garcia is 1-2 with a 6.75 ERA and 37 hits allowed in 24 innings over four starts. The Mets are looking just about everywhere for pitching help. They've checked in on Washington's Tony Armas Jr., an Omar Minaya favorite from his time in Montreal. They've asked the Diamondbacks about Miguel Batista, who may be available if Arizona can get a starter in another deal. And they asked the Indians about Jake Westbrook but were told he's not available
