  1. I love that this year we are able to have this conversation. >
  2. LOL.....as you can see I 'm very confused.
  3. It's all rather confusing to meat this point.
  4. You would really drop Maine?, of all the starters he's the only one that is a power pitcher in the sence that the others rely on deception to get guys out,Maine from what I see gets his share of swings and misses...I'd keep him and move him to the pen if you want.
  5. The beat writer for the Times is saying either Fonzie,Hernandez or Ruben Gotay will get promoted.
  6. Met.com has this ... ] Dave Williams (4-3) pitched seven solid innings to get the victory, contributed two hits and two walks to the Mets' 20-baserunner night, and his reward was a trip back to Triple-A Norfolk. The move is a procedural one -- Williams will be recalled with Friday's roster expansion to pitch for the Mets on Tuesday night against Atlanta. In the meantime, an infielder -- almost certainly veteran Edgardo Alfonzo -- will be recalled on Thursday, in time to be eligible for the postseason roster. Another reason for adding an infielder capable of playing third base is the sore right thumb Wright had wrapped after the game, the result of getting jammed a lot lately, he said. So will Fonzie get a call along with Hernandez?
  7. Remember a few years ago we had that name linkage thread, that was pretty cool...Craig Anderson Hernandez...etc.
  8. Sounds very cool, hope it's not a subway meal though.
  9. The MFY are lucky that with all the great and wonderful history they can't use a corporate name.
  10. Perhaps we could just name the dugouts after her Perfect, that's who I was thinking about when I posted. SK you are creeping closer to Seaver status.
  11. Ahh I was only taking the piss. Payson's Playhouse.
  12. They should just wear an armband like they do in soccer.
  13. No way a stadium should be named after a woman...
  14. I'm with KC on this,Wilpon could generate $10 million a year for naming rights,Murph,Kiner and Nelson should be honored,Pete Flynn should have the grounds shed named after him.
  15. sigh I hope he doesn't. Jackie Robinson Stadium at __________ Park will water down any intended tribute. I guess what I really want to know is there is need for a tribute, wouldn't honoring Kiner or Murphy be a better tribute.
  16. But the Wilpons have said they will look for a corporate sponsor.
  17. Or if they wanted to kill two birds with one stone go with these guys. http://www.robinsonoil.com/
  18. We had this thread last year I think, anyway over the past several days I've read in local newspapers how the Mets should" do the right thing" and name the new stadium after Jackie Robinson, now that the USTA has spurned millions and named the tennis center after Billie Jean King the media seem to think that the Mets should too,King thinks they should name it after Robinson. My problem with this is that although Rosinson did great things for the game he never played for the Mets.I dunno I just think if the Mets don't take the money(they will) then there are more worthy people to name the stadium after. It seems to me that some in the media are looking to the Mets to honour the legacy of Robinson, but MLB does that every year.
  19. Good stuff FK, thanks for the round-up,Go Padres.
  20. Trax on his high ERA. ] I had a couple bad games that inflated my E.R.A., and its hard to get it down, Trachsel said. Id need to throw 25 scoreless innings or something. You kind of ignore it all and move on.
  21. I'm reading that the Padres are looking to trade for Wells, and Oswalt signs a five-year extension for $73 million. http://newyork.mets.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060829&content_id=1635013&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb
  22. No thanks, and lets assume all the guys are in decent health who's spot in the post-season rotation would he take?
  23. Those at bats used to be common for Reyes, not this year though, give him his suds.
  24. Jesus Christ this Mets team is scary, Mets up10 to 3..guys I have a great and wonderful feeling about this team....now with Wright getting some cheap hits this team is sick, imagine if Floyd can come back and hit we might have Green hitting eight....scary.
  25. ] agree...there's something about him that makes the offense go. Maybe it's luck, but there's no denying it's a winning combo. Or maybe it's the guys in the feild thinking I fucking hate this guy lets get some runs so we can get him out by the sixth inning..who cares becuase he wins.
