metsguy,I believe you when you say that you don't do any underhanded shite to get a story but certainly you also know that plenty of others do.
  2. Joe Morgan mentioned during the game that with Castillo having never played in the National League he wouldn't know about the heat at Wrigley during a night game. Castillo is used to playing in a dome added Miller where heat was not a factor for him,Omar should have thought of all this before he traded for him.

Was it right for this guy to basically push his way into Steinbrenner's house under pseudo false pretenses, take advantage of a sick old man's inability to understand what is going on, and then 'out' George and his failing health by publishing this pretty damning account? I'd like to hear a journalist's take on that. I heard him talking about it,didn't he then say that he thought it was good that we the public now finally get confirmed what has been whispered about for the last few years? I think he was also waiting for the journo to call the show,I didn't stick around to hear him if he did.
  4. Wally uses the fact that his family never did move away from Atlanta as proof, does Kenny Loftons family move every time he gets traded or signs with a different team....fuckin stupid stuff.
  5. Sele - 2 Alou - 2 Schoeneweis - 0.5 Sosa - 0.5
  6. Glavine - 3 Delgado - 3 Milledge - 2 Reyes - 1 Castillo - 1
  7. Wally does his best to dampen the mood. Wally is a wally
  8. I never knew that, learn something new every day...
  9. Congrats to Glavine. Not even Joe Morgan could ruin this night.

  11. Men on first and third with two out for Alou, looked terrible getting struck out. Miller talking like Marquis and Glavine were great buddies in Atlanta, but didn't they have a fallen out,at least in the eyes of Marquis?
  12. Willie sporting the Mets arm sling to go with his Mets watch.
  13. Joe Morgan - "Jon,one of the reasons the Cubs are so good is that they brought in new players over the off season,Soriano,Lilly...."..
  14. Are Minaya and Randolph sending a message here to LoDuca, any speculation on that.
  15. Bonds hits # 755 in his first AB tonight against the Padres.
  16. Some things are best not known....a fuckin bump?
  17. OHernandez - 3 Mota - 0.5 Feliciano - 0.5 Delgado - 2 Castro - 1 Anderson - 1 Newhan - 0.5 Green - 0.5 Gotay - 0.5 Wright - 0.5

  19. Congrats to Wright and Maine, nice work Yancy. I tend to agree with G-Fafif that Nightcrawler would gladly take the big bucks over the suds.
  20. Yancy Street Gang wrote: ="metirish"]during Glavine's last start [Gary Cohen] lamented the fact that if he didn't get the win then his next start was on ESPN and he wouldn't get to call it. He could always muscle his way into the WFAN booth. That would give Dog Russo something to rail against. Funny because I was thinking the same exact thing, how fucking stupid was that rant by Russo.
  21. bmfc1 wrote: Cohen's extra happy--the sooner the game ends, the sooner he begins a rare in-season weekend off. Not happy at all, unless he said that during this game because during Glavine's last start he lamented the fact that if he didn't get the win then his next start was on ESPN and he wouldn't get to call it.
  22. Willie must make it clear that from now on Castro is the number one catcher.
  23. Is that seven walks ?

DETROIT (AP) - Tigers infielder Neifi Perez was suspended for 80 games Friday after testing positive for a third time for a banned stimulant. Perez was suspended for 25 games on July 6 when he tested positive for a second time. Under baseball's labor contract, a player who tests positive for the first time is sent for counseling. Perez has been the only player suspended by baseball for stimulants since baseball banned them before the 2006 season.
