  1. But for falling down the stairs Tom Martin might have made it back with the Mets this season. That Ben Johnson never did a damn thing did he? I remember there been modest expectations for the guy but nothing.

  14. We're in the fourth inning of Rick's lick fest , in the baseball game the USA are winning 3 - 0 . Wright with a sac-fly for the first run. " I'm just a broadcaster and I felt it" Sutcliffe talking about how Jeter was all mad around the batting cages before the game because he was originally not in the lineup , that kind of emotion is typical Jeter said Rick and surely his team mates felt it... remember he's just a broadcaster and he felt it.

  22. ="seawolf17"]Let's call him Nightcrawler. Good times , speaking of Nightcrawler , from the Snooze ] PORT ST. LUCIE - Billy Wagner, who has been throwing in his native Virginia, has been shut down by the Mets. But there's no bad news. Mets officials are concerned an enthusiastic Wagner is trying to rehab from Sept. 10 Tommy John surgery too quickly and requested a throwing moratorium to avoid the risk of re-injury. Wagner is not expected to visit camp, but Mets rehab specialists Chris Correnti and Guy Conti are expected to visit the southpaw at his home when the Mets break camp in three weeks. Wagner expects to be with the Mets for the season's final month, if not earlier, a source close to the former closer said. I guess that is where Conti landed with the org.
  23. I can give you a few combinations... O'Day/Redding/Stokes all to make the team out of Spring Training....300/1 O'Day/Redding/Stokes - none to make team out of ST - 200/1 O'Day/Redding/Stokes - O'Day to make team out of ST, Redding to make team out of ST but not Stokes - 300\1 What's your combo?
  24. Ex-Mets pitcher Ambiorix Burgos guilty of beating girlfriend Mets pitcher Ambiorix Burgos, charged with asssulting his girlfirend arriving at court, was found guilty. BY NICOLE BODE DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER Thursday, March 12th 2009, 10:01 PM Formers Mets pitcher Ambiorix Burgos' control problems have landed him in jail. Burgos, 24, was convicted Thursday of beating his girlfriend in a hotel near Shea Stadium in September after she tried to leave their room to go register her young daughter for school. A jury spent just over an hour deliberating before convicting the 6-foot-3, 235-pound righthander of misdemeanor assault. "Why would a man take a few minutes out of his day to hit a woman?" asked Queens Assistant District Attorney Kelly Sessoms-Newton. "To regain control. When she took back control of the relationship, that's when he began to beat her." Burgos, who weeks later was accused of killing two women in the Dominican Republic by running them over with his Hummer, still faces charges there. He served three weeks in prison in the Dominican Republic before being released on $57,000 bail. He claims he wasn't driving the vehicle, though prosecutors say it was his. Burgos will stand trial on charges of abandoning the victims in the Dominican Republic when he is released from the term of up to a year he got Thursday in Queens. Burgos beat and bit single mom Maria Lopez, 26, and threw her up against a wall. But his lawyer, Edgar DeLeon, said the woman waited two days to photograph her injuries and implied that she was out to get the free agent ballplayer's money. He was sent straight to Rikers Island and faces up to a year when he is sentenced April 3. Burgos pitched for the Mets in 2007 but sat out last year with an arm injury.
