  5. Edgy DC wrote: Howie couldn't shut up about how it was the first time that the park thundered like Big Shea. Gary remarked on that too.
  6. Red Sox take Beltran's cousin.
  7. Great finish.....Victorino in the dugout with them crazy eyes....yeah fuck you too Shane
  8. I have never seen a pitcher as pissed as Santana was over being pulled....he was cursing the decision and to me it looked like he cursed jerry when he handed over the ball..
  9. David could field an all time favorites team by now.
  10. This is so wrong.... Plenty of good seats available for Yanks-Mets ... at a price BY NEIL BEST | neil.best@newsday.com 11:49 PM EDT, June 8, 2009 A year ago, it would have sounded absurd: blocks of tickets to the first Subway Series at new Yankee Stadium, available at face value on the Yankees' Web site, a mere five days in advance. But there they were as of Monday afternoon, and plenty of them. Feel like taking nine very, very good friends to Friday night's game against the Mets? The tickets were yours - 10 in Section 24B, Row 7 for a mere $900 apiece, plus a $23.45 "convenience charge.'' Ten in 24B also turned up at $900 per for Sunday. How about 10 in Section 28 at $525 apiece for Saturday? All three games offered groups of 10 seats at $375 per ticket, plus $12.45 for "convenience.'' Seats at cheaper levels were more difficult to find on the Yankees' site, but as always, StubHub and other secondary outlets had plenty of availability. Still, below-face-value bargains were far fewer than for most games this season. On StubHub, which has a partnership with the Yankees, tickets for Sunday in Section 24B, Row 6 were going for $850, plus the site's $85 fee. That made the total price almost identical to what the Yankees are charging for that section. Stubhub taking the convenience charge to the extreme.
  11. Ferris taking douchebaggery to the max.
  12. I agree with soupcan, I love how Citi Field is playing. I'd like to actually hear what Jones said , I'm dubious that he actually "ripped" it like Hubbach says.
  13. ] I love that, third baseman David Wright said. Thats the true measure of a guy I have the ultimate respect for: a guy who plays hurt, doesnt go about announcing it and just goes out there and does his job and does it well. I havent known him long, but Alex is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorites. Said with the biggest smile David could muster.
  14. Hernandez 5 Wright 1 Murphy 1 Church 1 Cora 1 FMartinez 1
  15. Nieve 2 Takahashi 1.5 Wright .5
  16. No , but I'm going on Sunday so looking forward to your heads up.
  17. The voting is silly as we all know , I seem to remember a Mets player making the team in the last few years with a terrible average , or at least something that made him undeserving of a spot. Wright, Beltran?
  18. Nice work , a lot of numbers there that jump out at you and a lot of numbers to chew on , especially if you're the GM that gave out the contracts. Wright and Ortiz are WOW numbers But the projected numbers for Greinke really jump out at me.....if he stays health he can achieve those I would think.
  19. Good poll questions , no you don't suck JCL , today at least. I kinda like 'em. Disappointing, but redeemable Went with this , everything has been said already with regards to still being there with all the injuries and all that. I'm just not sure where Manuel fits into that though. That's a different poll though.

It's very helpful, since I recognize very few of the players that appeared in 1990 or after.[/quote:33ihq0he] Me too , never noticed it before. Kong76 Jun 06 2009 03:35 PM coo: I know you won't know what I'm talking about <<< I don't even know what I'm talking about some days. Kong76 Jun 27 2009 07:02 AM I guess the joke's on me! I posted an invitation on the "this guy" up top (to see if anyone really clicks there) and see if I got any bites. I get one PM from the coobster that his name is Julio and eats iguannas which is where I my brain was going with it but I didn't remember he spent time in the clink for murder?? ---------- Wikipedia: Julio Machado, born Julio Segundo Machado Rondn (December 1, 1965 in Zulia State, Venezuela) is a former Major League Baseball right-handed relief pitcher who played for the New York Mets (1989-90) and Milwaukee Brewers (1990-91). Machado started his career with the Mets. In the 1990 season, he went to the Brewers in a four-player deal, along with pitcher Kevin Brown, in exchange for catcher Charlie O'Brien and a minor league player. Machado had a decent fastball, good control and willingness to challenge hitters. He also pitched a better-than-average curveball and a slider. Machado was certainly good enough to pitch for a few more years. However, he is a footnote in the ledger of baseball history. Spending the 1991 off-season in his homeland, Machado was arrested for murder being accused of shooting a woman following an auto accident. He was convicted and, following appeals, he was sentenced to 12 years in 1996. In a three-year career, Machado posted a 7-5 record with 151 strikeouts and a 3.12 ERA in 147 innings. Machado went on to play in the Venezuelan winter league and currently coaches in that league. Machado was nicknamed "Iguanaman" for his fondness of eating the meat of iguanas. ---------- Next time our paths cross, coobs ... I owe you a beer! Edgy DC Jun 27 2009 01:08 PM I conflate Julio Machado and Jose Bautista. Benjamin Grimm Jun 27 2009 01:10 PM My newest conflation is Elmer Dessens and Casey Fossum. seawolf17 Jun 27 2009 05:39 PM I loved Julio Machado. Unquestionably in the bullpen of my All-Time Mets 25-Man Roster. Frayed Knot Jul 15 2009 05:32 PM That's either Roy McMillan or Harry Truman
  21. My cousin and his GF drove from Syracuse yesterday morning to go see the MFY's . Looking forward to it for weeks. They for some reason actually went to the stadium thinking the game would be on. Lights out Lidge is known as what this season?
  22. ="Frayed Knot"]Gets 'im with an absolute Bastard pitch to end it!! I love watching this guy pitch.
  23. I've never been to a minor league game but I'd imagine this is what a great AAA game looks like.
  24. Second and third with no outs and the Mets don't score . On the plus side Redding looks good
