  1. Only thing better than the yankees getting beat in the ALCS is getting beat in the WS.......I'll even gladly accept silly WS Champion Parade taunting form Rollins.
  2. Phillies all the way...there are two teams in world sport that I dislike with passion and one of them is the yankees.
  3. Exactly...I posted that tweet because it's fucking hilarious...
  4. According to a Twitter post by ESPN publicist Josh Krulewitz, baseball analyst Steve Phillips is no longer employed by ESPN. Phillips was involved in a sex scandal with another ESPN employee last week and had announced he was taking a leave of absence. Krulewtiz's post: "Steve Phillips is no longer working for ESPN.. His ability to be an effective representative for ESPN has been significantly and irreparably damaged , and it became evident it was time to part ways."
  5. It's not even surprising is it?
  6. I'm going to jump of a bridge....
  7. He wouldn't be the worst signing but they can do better can't they?, with the few OF free agents out there singing Cameron would signal they have no interest in long term options. Would that be their thinking ?
  8. I'm watching 1993 WS highlights on MLB and Tim McClelland & Dana DeMuth are working the game, Paul Runge ,Dave Phillips & Charlie Williams are the others.
  9. Just got back from Queens over the Whitestone bridge and it's pouring here in the Bronx....
  10. So Steve Phillips is not an idiot? , not buying it .
  11. Here's hoping you have a fun time....
  12. The Onion Joba Chamberlain Gets Permission To Stay Up For Whole Yankees-Angels Game ANAHEIM, CAYankees management announced at a postgame press conference Monday that reliever Joba Chamberlain had permission to stay up past his normal 9 p.m. bedtime and would be allowed to attend Game 4 of the ALCS in its entirety. "Young pitchers aren't supposed to stay up late, but he earned it with his recent commitment to improving in the bullpen, plus he asked very nicely," said Yankees GM Brian Cashman, adding that Chamberlain would not, under any circumstance, be allowed to stay up for extra innings. "He needs to understand, though, that this is a special occasion because it's the postseason. He still has to put on his pajamas after the fifth inning. And no candy or soda after 8." Cashman added that, despite rumors, Yankees reliever Phil Hughes would not be allowed to sleep over at Chamberlain's home Thursday as it is a game night.
  13. Not returning calls? , maybe that was part of Tony Bernazard's job and they haven't filled it yet. Who better to organize an event that Tony B.

  16. Umpire News ANAHEIM - Major League Baseball has responded to the slew of bad umpiring calls this postseason by selecting a crew of only veterans to work this year's World Series. In 24 of the last 25 Fall Classics, at least one umpire on the six-man crew was working his first World Series. In each of the last five, at least two of the six were working their first World Series. The past two years, three of six were first-timers. C.B. Bucknor, who worked Thursday night's Game 5 of the ALCS, was slated to work the World Series for the first time this season, but The Associated Press cited an unnamed source saying he had been removed after making two erroneous calls at first base in Game 1 of the AL division series between the Angels and Red Sox. The news service said three longtime crew chiefs - Joe West, Dana DeMuth and Gerry Davis - will be on the six-man crew. They will be joined by Brian Gorman, Jeff Nelson and Mike Everitt. World Series umpires are chosen from the pool of 24 umpires who work in the first round, with those two dozen picked on merit. ALCS and NLCS umpires aren't in play, because umps don't work in consecutive rounds of the postseason. According to VP of umpiring Mike Port, MLB's front office gets a recommendation from his staff. It is considered in the selection process. However, even umps with the best track records make mistakes in big games. Tim McClelland blew the call at third base in Game 4 of the ALCS when neither Robinson Cano nor Jorge Posada was on third base and Angels catcher Mike Napoli tagged them both. McClelland called only Posada out. In that same game, McClelland ruled that Nick Swisher had left early on a sacrifice fly when replays showed that he had not. Earlier in that inning, umpire Dale Scott called Swisher safe on a pickoff play when replays showed him to be out. Sources told the Daily News that MLB is so red-faced about the rash of mistaken calls that McClelland was forbidden to give an interview to Dan Patrick's nationally broadcast radio show. 17. I'm up with the kid and I'm thrilled to see the Angels won, surprised as I was certain that inning was it for them. Who in the Yankee pen coughed up the runs?
  18. I'm going to bed.....
  19. I've never seen much of Lackey before but I'm liking what I see this series....guys got some balls and fighting spirit.
  20. Some of these umpires are rather ripe aren't they?, in the 12 years I've been watching the game it seems like it has been the same guys. I doubt the umpires want more reviews as it might make their numbers shrink in the long term.
  21. Were you at Spin when Axl Rose called out Bob Guccione Jr. in the song Get In The Ring?
  22. I find the only time I watch espn now is when the Mets are on Sunday Night or on saturday mornings becasue they now show Premier League soccer.
