Please vote for two , starter and backup , again I can't list them all in the poll.
-
Please vote for two , starter and backup. Again guys like Wilson Valdez won't get listed due to space constraints.

Who were the best of the best at each position for the Mets during the Noughties? With fairness in mind I have listed all players to play the position with help from the UMDB. There is a 25 player limit for polling but catcher came under that. Please vote for two, starter and backup.

Please vote for two , starter and backup. Over 40 different players played the position during the Noughties , in a poll I can only use 25 so in that respect I cleansed the list of guys like Piazza, Jay Bell, Michael Tucker, Shane Spencer, Mike Glavine.

I would rather see the Mets sign...

Oh , that's not fair....of course you didn't put Lackey with Bay....I went with Bay and Piniero . -
Seattle are the mystery team....did they get a huge cash infusion this off-season or what?
-
Wang had that sinker right? , his great year that was working but then that pitch went or maybe it was just getting hammered.

A mystery team has entered the bidding with a five year offer.....

Notes & quotes: Alex Cora, who recently signed a one-year, $2-million contract, reportedly left Thursday's game in Puerto Rico with back pain. Newsday

Look up stuck to the bench and you'll see his mug , the one time he did get a chance at playing time he didn't impress. Did he play three games in a row or something like that and that seemed to be his shot. There were plenty of games where you might have expected to see him play but he wouldn't be, weird. Seemed like a nice enough guy though.

You got to think that to get Bay the Mets will need to go 5 years and bring the total to $80 at least.....Boras of course is talking Texeria money for Holliday.....
-
Jason Kendall gets a two year deal from the Royals....$6 million total....he's their new everyday catcher as they didn't offer Miguel Olivo a contract and he's a FA....why would you not bring back a catcher who had 23 HR and 65rbi last season? EDIT - The Royals had a $3.3 million mutual option with Olivo that they, not Olivo, declined.

Media asking if the Mets are only making offers to appease us fans.....WTF? http://www.newsday.com/columnists/jim-baumbach/is-image-everything-with-mets-decision-makers-1.1649134 That's just the latest I have read.... here's another http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/mets/talks_with_jason_could_be_just_for_l3SqSUjLrpCqxuCYIieSRK

Mets " people" think that Bay the pull hitter will work just fine at CF and that Holliday the gap hitter would not...plus they think his way better with the glove.

Thanks Greg......some good ones in there.... -
It was classic when he came up with the " finding it hard to get up for the 8th inning" as an excuse for sucking.
-
An abiding memory is him not being all that thrilled about coming here.
-
Which would be funny because the ultimate Bill James player played there for so many years......Biggio

Can we close this at 80 games please? How about four groups of twenty and you can vote for five games in each group to bring it down to 20 games and then vote for 10? I am setting the polls to close in five days -
