So far he's a chilled guy....and blessed.....and active on Twitter.

TransMonk wrote: Cerrone states on his blog today that Boras "will be seeking a five-year, $70 million deal this winter" for Beltran. HAHAAAHHAAHAAAHAA! I love you Carlos, but c'mon. Good luck with that, so if that is a starting point he might well be looking for three years and $45 million . No thanks.

Horrible "@Buster_ESPN: Really sad news about Hideki Irabu. He always seemed terribly sad in the two years I covered him; he had a lot of troubled times. RIP."

I woukd like two more years of Beltran , I have basically given up on Bay, he is not to be counted on for anything, major salary eating coming with him.

Hilarious, Meanwhile there is this "@AdamRubinESPN: Willie Harris has asked Justin Turner to get him a Twitter account on Thursday."

Let's Trade Beltran to the Pirates and Become Pirate Fans

Pirates beat writer I think "@AdamRubinESPN: RT @Dejan_Kovacevic: The #Pirates made an aggressive pursuit of Carlos Beltran, but he refused to come." I misread that , apologies -
Willie the kidder, racking my brain here on the Lenny reference .

Did he die or just get traded?

Let's Trade Beltran to the Pirates and Become Pirate Fans

Apparently there was a deal with the Pirates but Beltran refused to go, read that late last night from one of the baseball writers. -
As FK noted it goes back http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=11925 http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/07/27/prelude-to-a-trade-tony-la-russa-says-colby-rasmus-doesnt-listen-to-cardinals-coaches/

As much as there is positive vibes on twitter for the Beltran trade there is as much WTF vibes regarding the Rasmus deal.
-
That 2006 season , pretty special. I'll remember him as part of the whole Los Mets thing, which I liked.

Hanley is one tough player to like but I agree with him that Conine should have come to him first, especially as he works for the org. http://miamiherald.typepad.com/fish_bytes/

Either way, it's more than I thought we would get for Beltran at the start of the season. I'm was already inviting Brian Sabean to my year-end pretend poker game. Now I'm double-inviting him. Brown would've been nice. I hope we get a throw-in or two; it's always nice to have a two-or-three-in-a-million chance instead of one, y'know? One of the twatters mentioned that the Mets FO was interested in what they believed was the best quality prospect rather than a bunch of lesser ones, quality over quantity. I'll find that tweet in a bit......Waldstien IIRC.

Gwreck wrote: If this trade's not official, why the hell are we holding him out of the lineup tonight? I had similar thoughts AdamRubinESPN Terry Collins doesn't know if Beltran will be here. "I can't use him," the manager added. Mets play with 24 tonight.

Encouraging, yikes AdamRubinESPN Lucas Duda, and other OFs, have been working with Mookie in RF recently. Duda ranked most comfortable position as 1B then LF then RF.
-
hold the hope Buster Olney Confirming what @joelsherman1 is reporting: the Mets are eating $4 million of the $6 million owed to Beltran for rest of the season.
-
giving hope to optimists everywhere @AdamRubinESPN Adam Rubin Carlos Beltran jersey still hanging in locker.

Keep in mind this is the same Post that told us a few days ago (Sherman, I think) citing several factors which said that there was no way the Mets were going to get even a medium-good prospect for Beltran - even if they paid his freight. And, yeah, I realize that this is two different stories and one's a source and the other an opinion ... but still. this exactly , and on top of that the same writers on twitter were quick to tell us how Sabean in no way will ever trade top prospects...."he hates doing that"...
