  1. Is that a good deal for them and him? Honestly don't know what's value these days
  2. I absolutely love this kid and want him to stay and succeed.
  3. Hopefully he's more Dream Weaver than Nightmare Weaver
  4. In a statement announcing the Mets' now-official Jorge Polanco signing, David Stearns said: "As we stand now, we would anticipate Jorge playing first base, DH, and bouncing around to other positions as needed." DiComo
  5. I don't know, but I'm not all that excited about Nick Pivetta
  6. Mostly DH and 1st base , apparently
  7. With the Mets, Polanco — pending a physical — will mostly play first base, potentially designated hitter, and will provide insurance around the rest of the infield because of his versatility, league sources said. Sammon Over his 12-year career, Polanco has logged a total of 0 innings at first base. David Stearns has done this in the past. For example, while in Milwaukee and after signing Gold Glove second baseman Kolten Wong, he moved Keston Hiura to first base. Sammon
  8. Mostly an infielder? What's going on here ? Bad news for Jeff and Mark ?
  9. Mets made a reasonable try to bring back Rogers but Jays’ winning $37M offer, which can go to $48M with 4th year vesting option and had no deferrals, was hard to pass up. @Ken_Rosenthal 1st Heyman
  10. Free-agent reliever Tyler Rogers in agreement with Blue Jays on three-year, $37M contract with vesting option, source tells @TheAthletic. Value with option is $48M.
  11. "I choose the Dodgers because they are a winning organization. I'm looking to win. And I think they have everything to win, so picking the Dodgers was pretty easy." Hard to argue with that
  12. MEET THE NEST , very good
  13. There better be a great plan, when Cohen chided Mets fans to show up last season we did
  14. Pete Alonso’s wife Haley says goodbye to New York: “Those who’ve watched him over the years know that it’s undeniable that his love for the game absolutely radiates off him. I watched almost every game, every season like most of you. But, I was also able to see everything Pete did behind the scenes that would never be talked about, written about or shared because they weren’t done in the spotlight. As his wife I can say that Pete gave you everything he had, every single day. The accolades he received for his play during his time there are nice and appreciated but I hope his legacy with New York is how deeply he cared and how much of himself he poured into this game, this team and this city. Day in and day out. We fell in love with New York City and lived in Manhattan for 6 years. We fell in love with the fans and their passion. Sometimes glowing, sometimes… spirited 😉 but always heartfelt. We loved this team. His teammates, coaches, staff… truly everyone. We made lifelong friends over the years and I’m forever grateful for that. Just so grateful for all of it ❤️ Thank you for loving Pete.” (via IG/haleyreneealonso) Ugh, sucks that Pete wasn't a Met for life
  15. Mets just released obligatory farewell video now that it's official
  16. Nice summary, goofy Pete was endearing, during his ASG HR Derby it always looked to me like the other players didn't talk to him much, like he was awkward with that... Embraced the city, did some great work with T2T foundation
  17. A Cardinals club in the beginning stages of a full-on rebuild left Orlando on Wednesday without a trade being made, but it certainly wasn’t because of a lack of trying. With the Cardinals already fielding several calls about Donovan and Romero, they were queried by the Mets with interest in Contreras, per a source, after first baseman Pete Alonso left for the Orioles in free agency. https://www.mlb.com/news/cardinals-wrap-2025-winter-meetings
  18. I agree with you.... And we likely end up with Paul Goldschmidt
  19. The Mets never made a formal offer to Pete Alonso, per source, as it became clear to them the bidding was heading to places they weren't interested in going. DiComo
  20. I get the five years etc , but damn, I'm sad to see Pete go , good for him though
  21. Came here to post the same thing
  22. I'm still angry too , Cohen and Stearns have some work to win over the fan base, the anger is real out there , bewilderment too
  23. This sounds like nonsense from Puma btw
  24. Two other factors that didn’t help the Mets in trying to retain Edwin Diaz: Diaz’s brother Alexis was with the Dodgers last season and spoke glowingly of the staff and infrastructure. Also, Edwin Diaz was less than thrilled the Mets dumped pitching coach Jeremy Hefner. Puma
