  1. If you read Bob Raissman today you'll see that these reporters wait on Stenbrenner like little puppies.... http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/story/408699p-345949c.html
  2. The Daily News has an extra quote from George...quite funny . Asked to be more specific, Steinbrenner momentarily struggled to hear reporters over the enthusiastic cheers of fans waiting to catch a glimpse of him outside the Yankee offices.
  3. Steinbrenner not impressed. ] Boss ready for run at Mets BY JIM BAUMBACH Newsday Staff Writer April 14, 2006 The Mets may have the best record in baseball at 7-1, but George Steinbrenner isn't impressed. Asked after yesterday's 9-3 Yankees win what he thought of the crosstown rivals, The Boss said, "They're all right. We'll be ready for them." The Yankees and Mets play their first three-game interleague series at Shea Stadium May 19-21 and another three in the Bronx June 30-July 2. When asked a follow-up question about the Mets -- who beat the Nationals, 13-4, yesterday -- Steinbrenner nodded and replied, "We'll be ready to play them." They usually are. The Yankees are 29-19 against the Mets since interleague play was introduced in 1997 and they won the 2000 Subway Series in five games. Still, with talk like this so early in the season, it figures to be a heated baseball summer.
  4. I'm reading the IGT over at the Brewers boaed and found this bit of info.... ] Interesting sidenote: Mets are 7-1. 15 of the last 20 teams to start 7-1 have made the postseason. Is the Braves' reign over? Edited by: Team Canada at: 4/14/06 11:02 am
  5. I think from now on we should refer to him as Mr Torre.
  6. That's impressive, and as Gary Cohen notes everytime David is on two strikes," one of the best hitters in baseball with two strikes".
  7. I saw that CF and pretty much thought the same as you, like go to fuck Cappy.
  8. ] There is a real good Brewers board floating around somewhere which we stumbled on last year. I forget the name of the site though. I think this was the one FK.. http://www.brewerfan.net/ViewHome.do
  9. Excellent KTE TransMonk. Here's a Brewers message board, not much action though. http://mb3.scout.com/bmilwaukeebrewers
  10. What happened in game one , did they use the pen a bunch?, but yeah 122 is like Dallas Green type stuff, and this early in the season.....we need to go to a Houston area paper and find out.
  11. No idea Edgy, is Monk somewhere in the mid-land or the West Coast?
  12. Bump for TransMonk..........
  13. I read today that the Mets have only been behind in two innings all season, a small sample but that's amazin.....
  14. No it was defintely Mr. Seaver, he was pissed IIRC, then didn't Keith say sorry to the team on a flight back from the west coast?
  15. Bret are you talking about when Keith said the team had quit on Bobby V and then he back tracked the next day, infact I remember Seaver saying on the air that Keith should not have said it beacuse " we don;t know what's going on in the club house"....cool stuff really.
  16. CF were you really surprised with Zambrano?,I watched the replay like you and I thought it was a typical Zam outing.
  17. At this rate Schaefer will run out of beer the Mets are that hot....
  18. Just reported on the FAN , a Grand Jury is investigating Bonds for perjury.
  19. ] MIAMI -- The Padres received some unexpected good news Thursday on Mike Cameron, their fleet center fielder who has been on the disabled list with a strained left oblique since March 31. Cameron has been cleared to hit off a batting tee commencing Friday, when the Padres open a series in Atlanta. Early in the week, Cameron had said he still felt significant pain, and manager Bruce Bochy estimated that it might be a month before Cameron could return. Now, it appears to be a matter of days. In a best-case scenario, according to Bochy, Cameron could be back in the lineup in a week, when the Padres open a home series against the Mets. Cameron is hoping to be ready by the first or second game of the set against his former team, if all goes well. Bochy's sentiment on the prospect of having Cameron back soon: "It's huge." http://sandiego.padres.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/article.jsp?ymd=20060413&content_id=1398446&vkey=news_sd&fext=.jsp&c_id=sd

  21. Excellent, the guys hear that listen to the Mets on MLB say that the inbetween innings talk between Gary and whoever is carried live, it's priceless.
  22. Delgado 3 Beltran 2 Wright 2 Floyd 1 Oliver 1 Woodward 1
  23. Getting Cliff going is magic, this time last year he was the Mets offence, now he can relax and find his stroke.
