So, they fire a guy named Gonzalez and might replace him with a guy who's best second language is probably Japanese. I wonder if they would consider Lou Pinella, who may be available any day now. 6. Great job. When the pressure is on for a new twist on the KTE, Mole relies on what he does best. But I want to find out what song those lyrics go to. Later

    GMJ GONE

This thread has lasted about as long as his career with the Mets. Later
  13. So far this year the AL leads NL 92-76 (792 runs to 733). And I am hearing it from the MFY fans in the office. Later
  14. I think there may have been another on by Tom Lehrer. (I hold You Hand In Mine - ???) But I don't recall if it was just gruesome or about cannibalism. Later
  15. Detroit is one of the few cities in America that make downtown Bridgeport look good by comparison. Bridgeport never had the luck to have a championship in a major sport. So the fans never had a chance to burn the city down so they could start over again. Later
  16. Soup's Done: Brewers eat $10M+ by releasing Jeff Suppan. Good. I swear that guy had the best week of his career in October of 2006. Nope. He has re-upped with the Cards, and Dave Duncan has been able to do that voodoo that he do so well. Jeff has pitched two good games since signing there. Rats! Later
  17. Centerfield wrote: Funniest song about cannibalism ever. I'm guessing that's a very short list. Later
  18. Great KTE, considering it was written by someone who wasn't too happy about being in Detroit. Later

The Second Spitter wrote: Mets (re)acquire former B-Met outfielder, Jorge Padilla from the BJs and assign him to the Bisons. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/06/mets-acquire-jorge-padilla-.html (Maybe this thread should be remaned "Stuff not important enough to start a separate thread") There have been a lot of injuries at Buffalo lately. The other day thay had Val Passicci playing the outfield. Getting an experienced outfielder wasn't unexpected. Later

  22. Since we're talking about local announcers who are starting to get annoying, here's one who may be going the other way. Turned on the car this morning and WFAN was on. Francessa said (I paraphrase) "I was listening to the radio this morning. Yankee fans were calling in, complaining about Jose Reyes's excessive celebrations. But Joba Chamberlain does the same thing." Then, he admitted he was wrong in his prediction that the Yankees would hit Takahashi the second time they'd be seeing him. At that point I fainted, so I never heard what he said next. (Hadn't started moving yet.) Is he mellowing in his old age, is he finally being honest, or can we add "front running bastard" to the list of the other epithets we call him? Later
  23. Edgy DC wrote: Jerry Seinfeld re-unites with buddy Keith Hernandaze in the Met booth on Wednesday. Scheduled to bring three innings of booth time vs. the Tigers. I think Ronnie is out. Jerry is in the city because he's producing and directing the new Colin Quinn show. http://www.irishcentral.com/ent/Irish-American-stand-up-Colin-Quinn-appears-in-Jerry-Seinfieldss-new-one-man-show-96485429.html Wifey and I will be going tomorrow night. If I get a chance, I'll say "hello"from the CPF. Later
