  1. There is much talent to consider from across, how do you say, 41+ seasons National League East right handed starting pitching. Why don't we treat ourselves to three righties? *PLEASE NOTE ALPHABETICAL ORDER IS A BIT ASKEW, SO READ AND VOTE CAREFULLY*

But we still have eight more years of Parkerness to add in. Roberto left a huge, Parker-sized impression on me.
  5. Lovely KTE. I am reminded on our trip to Miller Park they were selling foam crowns in honor of Prince. Mrs. Fafif tried to convince me to drop two bucks so I could pose in one. I declined.
  6. Surprised that thus far I am alone in my love for Vlad. Even with his free-swinging ways, the man personified danger when he stepped to the plate in an Expos uniform. Not that others here didn't do the same in their own uniforms, but Guerrero stands out for me with Clemente, a shade above Parker. Hope Darryl doesn't stop by my desk and yell at me.

  8. Edgy DC wrote: Clff Floyd, also a Montrealer. Garry Matthews, also an Atlantean. Changed Floyd (thanks), not Matthews, as GMS's Brave tenure was in the N.L. West.

  10. Around in right, pick a couple of guys who played in the N.L. East for what they did as N.L. Easterners.
  11. Who can go run 'em down in those vast expanses? Get on your horse and choose two.
  12. 7 in your scorecard, 2 for our roster. We would ask you choose your left fielders (and all other positions) solely on the National League East tenures.
  13. In honor the Mets at Milwaukee and TMF at Minnesota, who are the players who are/were Mets, Brewers and Twins? There have been eight. Two are still active: Carlos Gomez, failed prospect in two places; Henry Blanco, the man of a thousand tattoos. One is the last Met who celebrated excessively on the field without eliciting complaints of hot dogging: Jesse Orosco. One is busy acting as realtor for the Field of Dreams house: Ken Sanders. One is a pitcher whose name came up in last night's broadcast as regarded 1987 and injuries to pitchers and those who were run out there to take their place: Tom Edens. Two were traded for one another: Alex Ochoa for Rich Becker. And one was Darrin Jackson.

  15. Bad, nebulous back page possibility: PHIL 'ER NOPE! Less bad but not great: GOOSED! Dark horse: CANYON OF ZEROES

  17. Edgy DC wrote: I'm going with Keith all the way and Ryan Howard after docking Stargell for his time in the outfield pre-1975 and infierior defense once he landed there. Stargell listed among 1Bmen since that's where his MVP came; same reason Torre is a 3Bman for these purposes. Also, I probably wasn't thinking that far ahead to left field.
  18. Edgy DC wrote: I'm withholding my vote in protest until the Mets are added to Garry Templeton's resume. You think it's an egregious oversight? Garry is so miffed that he ain't departin'. Hence, he'll be rejoining the Mets in Milwaukee Friday night.
  19. What a gorgeous fucking game that was.
  20. "And on a rainy night in late May, the Mets faced their divisional rivals with a chance to sweep." May the conclusion of that highlight film passage be written well, starting NOW.

  22. Mets Yearbook: 1988 debuts 7 o'clock Friday night. SNY runs all ten produced thus far on Monday, from 4:30 PM through 9:30 PM. In chronological order, they will be: 1963, 1966, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1975, 1976, 1980, 1984 and 1988.

If so, beautiful research.
  24. Ohh, we're halfway there. Oh-oh, piling up our hair!
  25. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: I'm kind of wishing these choices did not include contemporary players: It's hard not to cast a vote for Hanley Ramirez. I was tempted to go with Hanley after reading his SI profile this week. Hard to eliminate the contemporary, though, given that the contemporary includes the likes of Larry Jones at third and Chase Utley at second.
