  1. Eric Langill was born 4/9/1979. I think you cut and paste Tim Teufel's birthdate. Also, Langill looks remarkably good (and crouches amazingly well) for 58.
  2. That is a glorious table, Grimm. Thanks.
  3. The CPF Prize Fulfillment Office doesn't mess around. Thanks for running such a classy contest!
  4. Trachsel, Gentry, Maine, Lynch: winningest Met pitchers who were neither Met All-Stars NOR Met Opening Day starters. Maine did start the opener of the 2006 playoffs, though, and Lynch was being held as emergency starter in case Seaver, who aggravated a body part (and I don't mean that dick M. Donald a Grant) late in Spring 1983 couldn't go. Lynch predicted he wouldn't be Greeted warmly by the Shea throng if had he taken Tom's anticipated place.

  7. d'Kong76 wrote: G-Fafif wrote: Molina's team is in a playoff race. Ouch "Tell me where it hurts." "The calf. The shoulder. The neck. The thumb. The hip. The loss column. Too many places to mention."
  8. bmfc1 wrote: Fucking Molina is playing for the 3d day in a row but d'Arnaud can't? Molina's team is in a playoff race.
  9. Habitual liar John Maine.
  10. Bobby Ojeda should've been an All-Star in 1986...but wasn't.
  11. Joe Piscopo is, mysteriously enough, morning man on AM 970 The Answer, WNYM, which doesn't stand for New York Mets, so what good is it? Except for some MLB postseason spillover, it is unlistenable (home to your Michael Medveds, your Dennis Pragers, your Hugh Hewitts and so forth) and hard to pull in -- despite being on the frequency associated with the old WWDJ, flagship station of the Mets in 1969.
  12. Gsellman will wear 65. Also, other Rivera will replace Big Daddy Walker during Pat Leave.
  13. Robert Gsellman reportedly on the recall to take Matz's roster spot.
  14. No. 1,023: Josh Smoker.
  15. d'Kong76 wrote: I see SNY has a special (three hours) called Piazza's Road to the Hall of Fame. Three hours seems a bit much and it's something you'd DVR if interested and maybe sift through in the off-season. (not that there's a season any more) Anyone see any of it? I don't know if it's aired before or if tonight (6pm) is the first time. Aired a ton during the height of HOF/31 Fever. Incorporates some previous programming plus generous helpings of the September 21 game. Worthwhile for our FF'ing. Skip the Loudmouths or whoever segments.
  16. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: With a hateful, hateful video. (Establishing shots of YSII give way to obviously-shot-at-Shea interior video. Shea being forced into Death Star drag, IOW.) Yeah, that part is super fucked up (I remembered the Shea part but didn't remember the context altogether), but I do appreciate T.J. being probably the only big leaguer using a Steely Dan sample.
  17. Ralph and Choo Choo meet yet again.
  18. batmagadanleadoff wrote: Jeez, it was theoretically possible for the '69 Mets to play a game with a starting battery of Al Jackson and Choo Choo Coleman. That probably woulda jinxed the rest of that season, for sure. Or they would have caught the Cubs sooner.
  19. AP bio here. It lists the site of his passing as Orangeburg, S.C., though he lived and will be memorialized in Bamberg. I forgot that he is one of a handful of Mets with the Negro Leagues in his background.
  20. Thread title should reflect birth year of 1935, please (noted in above post).
