    Hell, Bobby Valentine (a well liked Mets manager) married the spawn of Lasorda and did alright in most people's books. (I'm sure there's nothing spawn-like about Mrs. Vee)

    One of my favorite all-time Mets as well. Last saw him in Fishkill, NY when he was a Cyclone coach/manager (I forget which). I have a Fonzie Magallanes baseball card from before he came to the states and he looked to be in his mid 20's already so 50 might be a stretch in 2023. Feliz cumpleaños a ti, Steady Eddie...

    Darling said this morning he wouldn't be surprised in Counsel stays put. Seems Mendoza is the front runner, I don't really care at this point, but really i'd find a surprise young guy emerging out of the blue much funner.

    I largely ignored the Yankees this year. Moreso than ever, I guess. I knew Volpe was really good, I did not realize he was first Yankee rookie to ever win a Gold Glove good until just NOW!!!
