  2. [bLOCKQUOTE]Jeff McNeil (hamstring) is back in the Mets' starting lineup for Tuesday's series opener against the Astros. McNeil returns to the Mets' starting lineup after missing five consecutive contests due to right hamstring tightness. The versatile 30-year-old is back at second base and batting eighth on Tuesday evening against the Astros. He's gotten off to a phenomenal start this season at the dish, slashing .327/.386/.465 with four homers and two steals across 249 plate appearances. 3. Does anyone have this book? https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3376833-the-miracle-has-landedThe Miracle Has Landed: The Amazin' Story of How the 1969 Mets Shocked the World by Matthew Silverman (Goodreads Author) (Editor) I have it but can't find it. Pretty sure a couple of regulars here contributed. Pissing me off because all my Mets books are in one place and it's a large book kind hard to misplace...
  4. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=97577 time=1656422109 user_id=68]You counted every thread, almost 2,000 of them? (No comment, thread. Make your own assumptions. )
  5. YouTube pulled the plug on ya. It's here: https://youtu.be/QFUawXZhnlchttps://youtu.be/QFUawXZhnlc
  6. Old Timer's Day is on my birthday. I will be officially old that day, but not quite Social Security old just yet. Gonna try and get out there.
  7. I only recall voting for the all-star game on ballots available at the ballpark. Grab a dozen and punch out the dots during the game and stick them somewhere. Maybe ushers also came around and got 'em? I have no memory of mail-in ballots available at stores. I have no interest in the all-star voting anymore, Haven't for decades. Have also been saying for decades the players and coaching staffs should do the voting. But who would sponsor that for big bucks?
  8. And in 1970 the Knicks won! Good job.
  9. They were always big on that, right? Set-lists, bootlegs and such. My friend mentioned above has like 200 cassettes of concerts he collected from the pre-internet daze...
  10. Fun tidbit - Buck Showalter (outfielder and first baseman) and Don Mattingly (first baseman and outfielder) were both on the 1981 Nashville Sounds.
  11. =batmagadanleadoff post_id=97508 time=1656338760 user_id=68]On the same day that the Mets won the last game of the 1969 World Series.
  12. Many 'incarnations ago' of this place a poster's 41st post was hailed by all. I forget how we hailed, but there was hailing.
  13. As with the Apple games, yesterday's Peacock game is available for replay on MLB.TV. Sure, the game sucked but I'm sure a few here will not be able to resist the temptation. (at least I won't)
  14. 1-13 with RISP, not fun
  15. Radio booth reports they've been told that today's game has broken a record for the most listeners streaming the game. Gee, I wonder why.
  16. And now I just get a ding on my non-Verizon phone asking me to confirm my wish to subscribe to Peacock via PayPal payment. The whole world's gone nuts. I need to go outside, my indoor AM sucks bhmc.
  17. Yeah, they prompted me to use PayPal which I guess is my 'preferred' Google Play payment choice. This is on a Verizon 'set-top' streaming device, is there anything Alphabet doesn't have their mitts all over nowadays?
  18. Oh, and no McNeil again today.
  19. Yeah, I was just signing on to report that my free Peacock now costs $4.99/month... cork-smokin' crazy. Nice day for a radio game anyways, so fuck 'em. And fuck MLB and mets.com. Big splash on home screen about the Mets on Peacock and then a ten second pop-up ad. Like it's a good thing.
  20. [bLOCKQUOTE]Jeff McNeil (hamstring) remains absent from the Mets' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Marlins. McNeil will miss his fourth consecutive contest since making an early exit on Monday due to right hamstring tightness. He remains day-to-day and has managed to avoid a trip to the injured list for now. It's unclear whether he'll be ready to go for Sunday's series finale later this weekend.
