I've appointed myself Chip Hale's Campaign manager and hope he gets your vote.

People call him "a baseball guy" AND a "high-energy" guy. I think Sandy likes him. He was fantastic third base coach. He was a finalist last time around, then went and got some experience.

His record in AZ was mixed. dBaggs improved by 15 wins in his first season. They went back down again in '16 but to me he looks like a victim of dumb decisions made by since-ousted GM Dave Stewart.

He was hired by Oakland almost immediately after being fired by AZ. That's not the mark of a shitty incompetent guy who gets jobs because of his fame.

He's pretty good in commercials:

I hope I count on your vote then. Chip's better than Todd "Low-Energy" Zeile and "Lyin'" Bob Geren, that's for sure.

2016 was one of those seasons where everything went pear-shaped for Hale's DBacks, particularly the pitching -- Greinke wasn't good, Corbin sucked, Shelby Miller sucked, CF AJ Pollack essentially
missed the entire season, etc. -- not unlike the 2017 NYM
It's certainly easier to see that year as the outlier rather than his previous improvement year or this current jump once they dumped him.

I'm fine with Hale; loved his cartoons Chip and Hale back in the day.

And better than "Little Joe" , anyway , I do think he's the guy for the job, "knows NY" (which means nothing but sounds good)
