G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 Lost in the shuffling is the Mets gave Fernando Salas his release waivers, so he's a definitive goner, too.Lent a helping hand down the 2016 stretch. Sucked from early overuse in 2017. Was probably better than Neil Ramirez.
Guest John Cougar Lunchbucket Guests Posted August 19, 2017 Posted August 19, 2017 I think the Mets knew they had a dead cat bounce and brought him back only because they couldn't get any relief pitchers in a Bruce trade. Good run last year but never anything special about his game other than whatever second wind he got from the trade and a rubber-y arm.Arrived late this spring and shoved into every game in the month of April, seemed like, assuring a rough start he couldn't get straightened out.Probably goes to some other club and pitches OK for a short time.
