RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 Film by Edgar Wright about a young getaway driver who constantly listens to music, and gets caught up as he tries to put the heists behind him.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 2, 2017 Posted July 2, 2017 You know what I thought this film was about? An actual baby driver. That sounds like a great elevator pitch. You get an MGM exec trapped on an elevator, and you hit him up with your crazy-assed idea for a film called Baby Driver. "It's about a baby, you see? And he gets the keys to the car! And he's DRIVING ALL OVER TOWN! For the whole movie! He's got near misses here, and running down mailboxes over there, and he's giggling and running red lights and shit! And maybe he interrupts a bank heist or something. The FBI is brought in and ... and Homeland security! But he's plowing through roadblocks! Baby driver! Green light, right?! Right?!""Hey, let go of me!"
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Liked it a lot. Great action, great music, I didn't think it was too long and I didn't fall asleep.
RealityChuck Old-Timey Member Posted July 3, 2017 Author Posted July 3, 2017 I liked it a lot. I don't usually care for car chase films, but the staging and the (non-CGI) stunts made it great to watch. Interesting characters, sharp dialog, and they knew exactly when to ease off on the tension and when to ramp it up again.
Guest Mets Willets Point Guests Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Puts a Simon & Garfunkel song in my head although I can't imagine that it's in the soundtrack.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 Puts a Simon & Garfunkel song in my head although I can't imagine that it's in the soundtrack. With lyrics like: 'born one dark gray morn with music coming in my ears / they call me Baby Driver' this song can't NOT be part of the soundtrackLotsa music and lotsa driving in this one so that song plays over the closing credits.Fun flick this one is, unless I suppose if one has some sort of objection to stylized violence.Out of left field cameo appearances by the likes of RHCP's Flea and 1970s songwriter/singer Paul Williams
