The Mets have announced that a rainy forcast has moved them to cancel their scheduled game against the US Military Academy. Originally scheduled to be their first visit to West Point since 1984, they moved the game early this month to Citi Field based on a snowy forecast, and now have moved it to oblivion.

I thought this was about all the Mets who joined the National Guard to avoid the draft. I remember some of the '69 team being absent for two weeks to attend military training.
I didn't avoid it.

They generally weren't in the National Guard, but the Army and Marine reserves.

we definitely needed two of these threads.

A different year I would've been intrigued about seeing a Mets exhibition game close to home, (when it was at West Point) but in general less associating with the armed forces please. Not sad it got canceled.

Our armed forces aren't precipitation-ready. Clearly a reflection on their commander-in-chief.
