Edgy MD Site Manager Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 The Mets have announced that a rainy forcast has moved them to cancel their scheduled game against the US Military Academy. Originally scheduled to be their first visit to West Point since 1984, they moved the game early this month to Citi Field based on a snowy forecast, and now have moved it to oblivion.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 I thought that this was going to be something about the 7 Line Army.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 I thought this was about all the Mets who joined the National Guard to avoid the draft. I remember some of the '69 team being absent for two weeks to attend military training.I didn't avoid it.Later

Ceetar Grand Central Contributor Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 we definitely needed two of these threads.A different year I would've been intrigued about seeing a Mets exhibition game close to home, (when it was at West Point) but in general less associating with the armed forces please. Not sad it got canceled.
G-Fafif Old-Timey Member Posted March 31, 2017 Posted March 31, 2017 Our armed forces aren't precipitation-ready. Clearly a reflection on their commander-in-chief.
