aka: The final Late Late Show of the year.
After this it's reasonable starting times from here on out and nothing but EDT starting next Friday.

Lugo (as per Matz's latest set-back) vs Cueto

The good news is that they're scheduled to get both Cespedes and Cabrera back, and also a possible return of the non-DL'd Neil Walker (for a day or two anyway until the baby alarm sounds).
The bad news is that the guys voted as 'Most likely to be bumped' are the only ones hitting lately: Ty Kelly (4 for his last 9 + 5 BBs and good defense); TJ Rivera (.355 over 31 ABs); Justin Ruggiano (3/5 last night incl a GS)

Already a swap has been made of LHRs as they've opened up the window to let the Edgin out and the (Josh) Smoke® waft in.
More details as they happen ... but only if you keep it where it is.

Seth Lugo? Are you shittin me?

And you prefer who exactly on less than a day's notice?

I'd suggest that perhaps the team should have better options available for spot starts. Niese didn't last 4 innings and he's getting another start. IMO Sandy didn't do a good job stocking the system.

So we want the really good options at last-minute, fill-in 8th starters like all the other teams have.

How about a decent rotation in Vegas? I don't care what the other teams do, this is supposed to be a championship-level team but it's a team which scrounges for starters.

Oh good, a ten minute delay!!!
I was beginning to worry that these west coast starts and 3-1/2 games* weren't making the games late enough.

* last four games: 3:29; 3:24; 2:53 (ARZ); 3:30 (SF)

What a opportunity for Seth Lugo, starting his 1st MLB game. Yo go Lugo!

Gelbs tosses some hard "why are they stealing" questions to lil d' and Travis deflects them, somewhat like he does with balls in the dirt.

Until the post-season.

So not only does yet another one of our already rare hit w/RiSP fail to actually score a run but it all followed yet another failed Sac Bunt which could have scored the run one play earlier.
Bottom line: 3 hits in an inning and 8 in 5 innings yet the only run is ... say it with me folks ... a Solo HR!

I mean, this game was essentially over as soon as the Giants got their 2nd run anyway -- and if it wasn't over then then it was when Bruce GiDP'd -- but, man, this team finds new and interesting ways to blow games on a nightly basis. SF has about 3 or 4 decently hit balls all game and has a 5-run lead.

This 3-run (and counting) 9th inning has consisted of six ground balls, two of which left the infield.

oe: and now it's a 5-run inning.

I think we'll be lucky to hold off the Phillies

Pathetic folks. Absolutely pathetic. Stick a freakin' fork in 'em.

Maybe I'll feel better tomorrow. Like yesterday. And the day before. And the day before.

Each loss is like the worst.
